@Ishodas_Thomman This is an inaccurate map. The part of "Russia" bordering India is really the Little Pamir, which was inhabited by Kyrgyz tribes paying tribute to the Principality of Wakhan. The Little Pamir came under Afghan rule in 1883 when they annexed Wakhan, it was never Russian.
@MAWKVLT No he’s actually kinda right though, it’s like how Egyptian Arabs are the Arabized indigenous peoples of Egypt
Tatars came to Crimea and Tatarized the Goths, Greeks, Armenians, and other peoples in Crimea that existed before them

@MAWKVLT TL:DR; modern Crimean Tatars are mostly descended from groups of earlier Crimean peoples that were Tatarized; the “pure-blood” Tatars are almost entirely outside Crimea due to a 19th century exodus triggered by Russian genocides where Steppe Tatars moved; Mountainers stayed.
@MAWKVLT The Circassian genocide sparked fears among Tatars that led to an 1860 exodus from Crimea, where many of the Steppe Tatars relocated into the Ottoman Empire while the Mountain Tats remained. The modern Crimean Tatar population is almost exclusively indigenous Mountain Tats.
@ayampeunyet Is there any way I could get a copy of his thesis? I am doing research on the migrations of Javanese, Minangkabau, and Bugis across the archipelago and it would be a helpful source for my work!
@cryptomxth@Fallowman09@mewhentheof@LLL50970558@shitposts_mp4 It was still de facto a colony, the Americo-Liberians numbered 15,000 in a country of 750,000 yet dominated politics. Only Americo-Liberian men could vote, and all leaders were Americo-Liberian until 1980. Read “The Evolution of the Liberian State”, it talks about this subject.
@JupiterAshu_sgu@owenbroadcast To be fair, this is based off of Wikipedia articles on military history, which overwhelmingly tend to be Eurocentric
From my own research many areas like in Central Asia should be way more full
@FreeP271023@CoreyWriting@sharghzadeh You said Moroccans never colonized or enslaved blacks.
The Black Guard was the backbone of Morocco's military, used slaves, the Almoravid and Saadis conquered Sahel, and the Saadis left the Pashalik of Timbuktu which was ruled by Moroccan descendants. That is all I will say.
@yaqobhyndes My family is from the Thailand of the Caribbean (Jamaica) - two things you can do with this. Heat up a pan, fry it with some thyme, pepper, and onion.
Place it on some hard dough bread for a sandwich, or alternatively eat it with rice
