Mi papá odió a nuestro vecino durante 11 años. Decía que era grosero. Frío. Arrogante. Todas las mañanas el tipo ignoraba a todos y se iba sin saludar con la mano. Un invierno mi papá resbaló en el hielo afuera de nuestra casa. Una caída fuerte. No podía moverse. Luego dijo:
118 minutes without a goal... then in the last 2 minutes of extra time, everything changed! Fabio Grosso scored a beautiful goal in the 119th minute, Alessandro Del Piero secured the victory in the 120+1 minute. Germany 0-2 Italy in the semi-final of the 2006 World Cup.
This epic match is still often discussed until now.
Do you think this is one of the best semi-finals in the history of the World Cup? Or is there another match that is more dramatic? ⚽🇮🇹
Gianluigi Buffon in the World Cup 2006:
▫️5 clean sheets in the tournament
▫️0 goals conceded from open play
▫️Only 2 goals conceded in 7 matches
▫️453 mins unbeaten (no open-play goals)
…and he went to finish 2nd in the Ballon d’Or. 🐐🇮🇹
🚨Lisandro Martinez was an absolute MONSTER yesterday.
Man was bullying Arsenal players like they were kids — winning every duel — warrior mentality 💪🔥

WESLEY SNEIJDER:
"Busquets was an extremely annoying player; he always hit others but never wanted to be hit himself. As soon as he took a hit, he would start crying. An absolute crybaby. I literally had fights with him in every match. There was a moment when I said to him, 'I’ll see you in Ibiza in the summer, then we can talk, you and I.'
In 2010, we beat Barcelona 3-1 at home, then we had to go to Camp Nou, and 8 minutes in, Motta fouled him, and Busquets started rolling on the ground while looking through his hands to see if Motta would get a red card. Then he got up and was fine, the crybaby. A completely unpleasant guy."
🚨 Real Madrid legend Pepe:
“Roy Keane at Manchester United is the player I looked up to growing up. He played with so much passion and dedication, which people mis-interpreted to be violent. I'm glad I recreated some of his iconic moments.”
You bought a pointless midfielder in Wirtz breaking the league transfer record, only because City wanted him.
You bought Ekitike fucking Newcastle in the process then bought Isak breaking the transfer record again. For no reason???
You bought two fullbacks that can’t defend.
You extended two declining players with more than what KDB was on, in his prime.
Your manager ain’t as good, he’s been shit for about a year, and clearly got found out.
You won the shittest, non/competitive PL in well over a decade with Arsenal and City in injury crises all year causing you massive delusions.
You lost true ballers in Diaz and Trent which are infinitely better than what you have.
You didn’t address your LW and CB deficiencies.
Need i go on? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🚨🗣 - Love this Amorim's quote on Casemiro:
"Casemiro brings a lot of experience. He is an example for everyone. At the beginning, he was behind all the midfielders, even Toby [Collyer].
"He fought, worked hard, and now he is back in the national team. He's so important to us.
"He pressed very high before dropping back. I'm really very happy with him. The other players should take Casemiro as an example. Football can change very quickly. You just have to work. If you do what's necessary, you will play."
Casemiro is the perfect example of how crucial the right mentality is in football.
He was literally last in the midfield pecking order, even behind Toby Collyer. Do you realise how humiliating that is for someone who’s won five Champions League titles?
But what did he do? He stayed quiet and worked his ass off. That’s what an elite mentality looks like. No interviews, no drama, nothing. He simply worked so hard that he forced the manager to change his mind.
If there’s one thing a manager loves, it’s a player who proves him wrong and that’s exactly what happened with Casemiro under Amorim.
Every young player should take note. If someone with five Champions League titles can humble himself, work harder and earn his place back, then you should too.
