I’m a sales leader for a US software company in Germany but I’m leaving my job and Germany by the end of the fiscal year.
The plan was to move to the US with my wife and our two kids. The green card is taking longer than we thought. That was frustrating at first. Then we decided to turn it into a trip: roughly six months in Thailand and Bali before we go.
The last years were mostly work. Getting ahead. Making money. Saving. And a lot of time developing my teams and helping them build careers. I love building things and helping people grow. I just barely saw my kids.
That’s the part I want back.
I’ll post here while it’s happening. Still in Germany. Still working. Planning the trip, the move, and hopefully a new job in the US.
Six years before we decided to leave Germany for the US.
My first year as an AE at this US software company I underperformed. Badly.
On paper I thought I understood the playbook. In practice I didn’t. PipGen, NBMs, finding real pain. I was worried for a good 8 months they were going to fire me.
A mentor helped. He came to my city two days a week and just worked with me. That mattered more than any training slide.
I was so amped I had to stop drinking coffee for eight weeks. One cup and I was useless.
I never write or post anything on X or other platforms. We as a family are planning to move to the USA in the next 6-12 months. Its an exciting but also stressful time and I will post some stuff here, also to digest the madness around the move.
@suekhim I have a daughter 7 finishing 1 grade she could use it for math and a son with 4 in preschool not sure how the younger one fits. Would be great to try it out
@rhirhiarhii@MyLordBebo It’s a new law since 1.1.26. I’m out of the country since than. Will be back in 2 weeks so yes I know what new law means and how it applies. Thank you that you know more about my life than I myself. Have a great day.
It’s funny who Crazy unfreundlich 95% of all the replies to my posts are. Why is that? Yes I was wrong that the law does not exist but it’s currently not enforced. Therefore I didn’t have a problem yet. Not sure if mark Twain knows so much about German law to write so aggressively. Happy Easter buddy
