If you watch the full video, Gavin Newsom is saying that Israel’s settlements in the West Bank specifically could be constituted as apartheid (it definitely is apartheid), but mainland Israel is not necessarily an apartheid state within its 1967 borders. This is why he criticizes Netanyahu for pushing for the West Bank settlements. Newsom’s position is in full accordance with a 2 state solution based on 1967 borders, something many Israeli and Palestinian civilians themselves support. Not sure what he said that’s so wrong.
