I'm so proud of my students for pushing through in the final month and creating these masterpieces. This was our end of year celebration- keeping the tradition alive with the Documentary Awards!

"I want him to read about black boys who are adventurers, builders, peace makers, nerds, artists, and so on." -Elena Aguilar
I just ordered her book Coaching for Equity for summer reading.
"In other words: I don’t want my black son to only see and read about black people being enslaved, or attacked by dogs, or lynched, or protesting injustice, or starving, or escaping war or famine." -Elena Aguilar
"We insist that children have picture books that contain images of children that look like them--and that those books depict children-who-look-like-them and are in situations of empowerment, possibility, creativity and expansion." -Elena Aguilar

@GovMurphy As educators, we are willing to sacrifice so much. We are passionate about helping “our kids” achieve the unachievable. The decision to return to school in September not only puts our lives in jeopardy, but our family’s lives, too. Will I not be able to see my dad?
@GovMurphy Please make the decision to stay on remote learning for the state of NJ. Educators would like to have a solid plan for this upcoming school year. We WANT to be back in the classroom, but education will not be the same in or out of the classroom this year.
@GovMurphy I very proudly reside and teach in Plainsboro, NJ. I believe that you have done an incredible job during this pandemic, but it is a GRAVE mistake for you to send educators and children back to school come September. Containment=smart decisions
T.E.A.C.H. Conference - I made a commitment this year to take at least one workshop outside of my content area. I’m looking forward to this #beatingthe6thyearburnout https://t.co/WeRjxtxzsp
