just imagining that in sylus’ final moments as the pain slowly faded from his body where his beloved had stabbed him, he saw her face.

the kindness in her eyes. the anger burning in her irises, cursing the world for tearing them apart. the desperation in her voice as she begged him to stay with her just like he promised.

he felt the skin beneath his lips as he kissed her forehead. his final breath brought with it the scent of sweet cherry wine; the smell of his sorceress, his beloved, his heart and soul.

his final fading moments as he returned to the clouds where his soul finally feels at peace; no longer tormented by the curse placed upon it or the burden of knowing that the roles could’ve very well have been reversed. the final threads of his consciousness billowing through the white clouds above and hearing his sorceress curse him to always have his soul bound to hers and finally, finally departing this world.

and yet he knows that this final curse that forever binds them together means that in the next life, he will get to live all of this again. he will get to experience his firsts with her again and again, filling his desire with those moments of affection that she taught him to appreciate.

it’s his sorceress’ face he sees when they meet again in this life; but she no longer holds any kindness in her eyes for him.
