Kaitlin Angeline Shannon was only 23 when she succumbed to sarcoma but her legacy lives on in Kait's Comfort Kits which she and her Mom developed together
Today marks 5 years since my daughter, Kait, flew off to her new adventure.
My thoughts on my journey to having to keep going without her physically here but with her in a different way:

Kait’s Comfort Kits has just pivoted again - from hospital care to winter shelter support.
Her legacy lives on, one act of compassion at a time. 💜

It’s a big day in Vighkings history.
After thirteen weeks, my family band has posted an albums worth of songs. My kids write all the tunes. Check us out!

A little light jazz for a Friday night.
Kait & I wrote the lyrics. Good kind friends donated time & talent to compose the music, arrangement & record it.

It's been a long time since I could listen to Kait's voice.
So glad we recorded this duet together singing "Pie Jesu" by #AndrewLloydWeber@OfficialRUG.
Thanks #ReallyUsefulGroup for allowing me to upload to my YouTube channel.

Missing my girl. Just found this photo the other day.
Could not have foreseen that cancer would find you at 19 & take you 4 years later.
Hard to believe that was just over 3 1/2 years ago.
💜😭💜

What a special, touching place to visit....my father's side of the family planted a tree in honour of Kait at the Int'l Children's Memorial Place in #PEI and I finally was able to visit. Lots of tears for Kait and all the trees honouring so many children. https://t.co/phapqxoKTl

1/Such an emotional day today.
Today marks 3 years since Kait flew off to heavenly skies. So hard to believe that it's been that long. There are times when it's a raw as the day it happened. The wound never ever heals - no matter how much time passes.
6/ This was the first time it wasn't freezing & pouring rain. Plus - a beautiful cardinal sat on a branch and sang its little heart out. Some believe that it means our loved one has come for a visit. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kait the way it was non-stop chatty!
5/ The tree she chose to hug when I would take her to the park for picnics during her chemo treatments. You may recall the photo I took of her hugging it with all the blossoms in bloom.
