Last evening, Kenyans listened to a press briefing by Mr. Kipchumba Murkomen, the CS in charge of a critical docket in the Republic of Kenya.
I am vindicated.
Kenyans are more convinced than ever before that my position has all along been true and factual; we have the most clueless Minister in charge of security since independence.
The man is lost in ideas, arguments and conclusions.
The first and most important duty of the police is deterrence of crime. Mr Murkomen argues that he has intelligence reports that goons were being organized to commit crimes today.
Interesting!
What has he done about it? If he is aware of their plans why can’t he stop them? Is he unwilling to stop them or he lacks capacity or what does he want ordinary Kenyans to do if he is crying as the CS for Interior?
Since he is aware that goons will be destroying property, will he allow it to happen then arrest people later or hold another presser and report them to Kenyans?
Why is he unwilling to give a categorical answer that police will protect property and the state-sponsored millitia that him and his colleagues have organized and will not be allowed to cause violence?
He carelessly says that politicians from the opposition are organizing goons; Why can’t he arrest these goons?
He further asserts with authority that leaders allied to Government will be attacked; I trust he has made arrangements to protect them and their properties though they already have Government armed security.
As if that isn't unintelligent enough, he adds that some Bussinessmen will be attacked for refusing to finance politicians. Since he knows them, then he must make arrangements to protect them.
It is my take that since the Government knows goons will attack citizens and Bussiness, then it should not happen since the Government has sufficient capacity to stop it and arrest the goons while in action.
Unfortunately and sadly so, the real goons will not be arrested because they are organized by Government.
The Police have clear instructions to allow goons wreck havoc and only intervene later by arresting innocent people. Leaders in the opposition will be arrested later for allegedly financing the attacks.
There will be stage-managed attacks on leaders allied to Government and accuse opposition leaders of inciting people against them. The script is so clear. Blame the opposition and get the affected leaders some sympathy.
Let Mr. Murkomen stop the goons since he has confirmed there will be goons attacking people.
It is his work.
What does he want ordinary Kenyans to do? It will not happen. The whole thing is his plan.
He has recruited, financed and deployed the goons to cause mayhem and later blame the opposition. If he hasn’t, they there will be no goons and there will be no violence.
It is common knowledge among Kenyans, because they are intelligent, that if goons were organised by the opposition, they would not be let to get anywhere near citizens' property. They would be shot on sight and others arrested. Goons terrorize Kenyans with impunity and never arrested because they are state goons.
That is why they move in police vehicles and walk with the police. No wonder Mr. Murkomen is so kind to them that he calls them watchmen!
And in any case, the National police service is supposed to be independent. The Minister should comment on policy. IG is in charge of operations.
Why is Mr. Murkomen discussing police operations?
He has taken over the National police service and created parallel command. He has introduced goonism in the police service. He has forced police commanders to work with goons!
Mr. Murkomen, do your work. Do not forget that ICC is beckoning you and your masters.

Kenyan police cornered peaceful protesters in a blocked alley, beat them up, then teargassed them.
"Larry ukienda tutauliwa," one of them said. "If you leave, we'll get killed."

Gen Z did more than reject a Finance Bill, they rewired our politics. From TikTok spaces to court corridors, they disrupted the old script of tribal mobilisation and elite bargains by insisting that public power answer to constitutional principle and economic justice. Their leaderless, tribeless, crowd-sourced organising exposed how quickly informed citizens can fact-check officials, decode bills and turn legalese into rallying cries for accountability. In doing so, they reminded the country that Article 1 is not a slogan but a living reality. All sovereign power belongs to the people, and those who exercise it do so on terms.
Gen Z forced courts to speak faster, MPs to apologise and an Executive that had grown tone-deaf to finally listen. They made institutions feel public pressure in real time and showed that silence in the face of abuse of power is a professional and generational betrayal. Our duty now is to entrench that energy into institutions and not let it fade with the news cycle. If Gen Z could reclaim the streets and the digital public square, the least we can do is ensure that their courage is translated into lasting legal, policy and cultural reform, not another round of cosmetic concessions.
As this moment continues to unfold, let it also be guided by responsibility. Stay safe, remain peaceful and look out for one another. The strength of a movement is not only in its conviction but in its discipline and care for human life. Be each other’s keepers because the future we are demanding must also be one we protect.
A reminder that Eric Shieni was taken out by a snipper shot because he was running for his life. Unarmed, and trying to survive the chaotic streets messed up by Ruto's police the young man was killed in cold blood because we have a tone deaf regime. A regime that knows it all.

Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi: As of Ruto offering me a job, I was approached a number of times, but I laughed it off; I thought it was a silly joke. Ruto does not respect professionals in this government; that is why he drives out people like Ndung’u, former Treasury CS.
