Today marks an important milestone for our Ministry of Foreign Affairs as we officially inaugurate the headquarters of the Department of Diaspora Affairs.
For decades, Somalis across the world have stood by their homeland with unwavering commitment. Through their resilience, investment, knowledge, and sacrifice, our diaspora has been instrumental in rebuilding our nation.
They are not distant from Somalia, they are an inseparable part of its story, its strength, and its future.
This new Department stands as a solemn commitment: that every Somali, wherever they may live, will know that their nation stands with them.
The noble saying goes: "If a Somali is mistreated anywhere in the world simply because they are Somali, then all of us are affected. It is an attack on our future, our dignity, and our identity, and we cannot accept that."
These are not merely words. They are a responsibility.
This Department will work tirelessly to protect the rights and dignity of Somalis abroad, strengthen our partnership with diaspora communities, deepen cooperation with our international partners, and respond decisively to the challenges our people face; from discrimination and exploitation to the scourge of human trafficking.
The Somali flag must never be a symbol of vulnerability. It must be a symbol of dignity, belonging, and hope.
To every Somali at home and across the globe: you are part of one nation, bound by one identity and one shared future.
Wherever you are, Somalia is with you. Together, we will build a nation whose people are respected, protected, and recognised wherever they stand.
Our diaspora is not simply part of our past; it is indispensable to our future.
On the occasion of the 47th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Djibouti, I have the distinct honor to join the Government and the people of the Federal Republic of Somalia in extending our warmest congratulations and best wishes to our brotherly Republic of Djibouti, led by His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh, and to the friendly people of Djibouti.
Today, we pay tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the Djiboutian patriots whose struggle for freedom secured the sovereignty of their nation and laid the foundation for the peace, stability, and progress that the Republic of Djibouti continues to enjoy.
As close neighbours bound by history, culture, faith, and an enduring sense of brotherhood, Somalia takes great pride in celebrating this joyous national occasion alongside the people of Djibouti. The bonds between our two nations are rooted not only in geography but in shared aspirations, mutual respect, and an unshakable commitment to the prosperity and security of the Horn of Africa.
Djibouti has consistently stood as a steadfast friend and trusted partner to Somalia, demonstrating remarkable solidarity and support during some of our nation's most challenging moments. This enduring partnership reflects the strength of our fraternal ties and our shared vision for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region.
As the people of Djibouti commemorate this historic day, Somalia reaffirms its deep appreciation for the enduring friendship between our nations and its commitment to further strengthening the bonds of cooperation for the benefit of our peoples and future generations.
On behalf of the Government and the people of the Federal Republic of Somalia, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh and to all the people of the Republic of Djibouti. May this Independence Day inspire renewed hope, continued unity, and ever greater peace, prosperity, and progress for the Republic of Djibouti. Happy 47th Independence Anniversary.

@HamzaAbdiBarre Mudane Reysulwasaare waxaa aad inoo farxad gelisa sida aad mar walba ugu taagan tahay Ka war qabka iyo isku-xirka bulshada iyo hogaanka San ee aadka u wanaagsan , hogaamiye ku dayasho Mudan baa tahay ALLE haku xafido.
Our nation, Somalia, has long been known for its rich tradition of learning and its deep respect for education. For generations, knowledge has been at the heart of Somali society, shaping our identity and strengthening our communities. Today, we are renewing that proud legacy.
I extend my heartfelt best wishes to more than 44,000 students as they sit for Somalia's Unified National Grade 12 Secondary School Examinations. These examinations will be conducted across 158 centres nationwide, reflecting both the scale of our progress and our commitment to ensuring that every young Somali has the opportunity to succeed.
I am particularly proud that the number of candidates has increased by more than 5,000 compared with 2025.
This progress is the result of improved security, the recruitment of more teachers, the liberation of areas once under the control of Khawaarij terrorist groups, and sustained educational reforms aimed at building a highly skilled and educated Somalia.
This remarkable growth reflects expanding access to education, the resilience of Somali families, and our administration's determination to invest in the future of our children.
This year, we expect a total of 67,051 students to graduate from secondary school across Somalia.
Our vision as DanQaran is clear: to provide every child with quality education, unlock their full potential, and prepare a new generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and professionals who will build a prosperous and self-reliant Somalia.
I commend the Ministry of Education, our dedicated teachers, parents, and all those who have contributed to this important milestone.
To our students, I say this: the future of Somalia is being written in classrooms today, and each of you holds a pen. Your dreams matter. Your efforts matter. Dream without limits, work with determination, and believe in your ability to achieve greatness.
Your success is Somalia's success. Your future is Somalia's future.
May Allah grant you wisdom, confidence and outstanding results. May He guide you towards a future filled with knowledge, opportunity and service to our beloved nation.
