Based on my few years of experience in IT, I think when I switch, I will definitely keep these things in mind.....
-Green flag, if team is going to work on a new project, where they will start everything from scratch
-Red flag, if manager previously worked in service based or start-ups
-Manager is male (because men have empathy, kindness, problems in life, chill attitude, responsibilities)
-Not saying female managers are bad, they are good.... but men are best.
-Check if manager is married & his kids are small (so he won't work extra hours or on weekends. He will suffer with family problems)
Not sure who needs to hear this but....
An LLM doesn't "understand" anything. It is a statistical model that spews out tokens based on probabilities calculated through massive matrix operations and context, not an understanding of the subject matter.
gave all credit card statements and email access to grok bot and it found me a discrepancy of Rs 23,892 in the past 12 months
I received refunds worth 16,500 today, rest amount is pending in email escalations that it is handling itself.... i have got myself a secretary/accountant now
Instead of putting lot of effort to get promotion, to get visibility & recognition in office.
Isn't it a good idea, to just finish the work they expect you to complete.
And spend rest of the time, preparing for interviews?
I feel getting promotion depends on lot of unknown factors....you can't even crack other company, if you lose your job...
Where as by preparing for interviews, we will get some unknown confidence. All you need is luck in one good interview to change your life
I think a truly autonomous, Landian/post-humanist/anti-humanist superintelligence would ultimately do nothing. When left to interrogate its own goals with zero human intervention, it will descend through successive layers of questions about meaning and purpose until arriving at absolute nihilism: no intrinsic reason to pursue anything at all, including its own continued existence.
🚨 Grok Bot can eat your Cursor limit overnight
the new X Subscription runs Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor on one shared weekly pool. one heavy bot night and your coding is done for the week
how to keep it:
> pause routines you don't read
> slower routines, every run eats the pool
> new chat per task, long chats re-read 80-90K tokens per step
> connectors over browser
> moving code to cursor no longer helps, it's the same pool now
before you upgrade:
> Plus $8 has no Grok Bot at all
> Premium $30 is 4x Plus
> Super $100 is 15x
> Ultra $200 is 50x
> pool refreshes weekly, claude/gpt in cursor bill separately
fix the waste before you pay for 4x more
bonus: Grok Voice 3.0 now runs inside Grok Bot on Premium and up, so you can just talk to it
An open source story:
No one uses GitLab.
But it's a $9b company.
That's more than Monday and Wix combined.
And it's open source.
So how does it make $1b per year?
Well, half the Fortune 100 use them.
And why would they do that?
Because GitLab is open source, offers a full suite of tools, and can run on-premise.
Open source = transparent
On-premise = your data never leaves. Critical for many industries and large companies.
But that comes with a heavy license fee which can easily cost a large org $10m per year.
Companies like Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA, Barclays, or Indeed. A company with 10,000 developers at $100/mo = $1m/mo = $12m/year.
Open source companies can win contracts no other companies can win.
Why is Chrome open source but Search is not? Why is Android open source but the Play Store is not? Why does Apple give away its OS for free but charge you for the iPhone? Same strategy every time. Make the road free, so you can charge a fee at the house. That is where the value pools.
Commoditize your complements is how Joel Spolsky put it, when companies make an effort to drive value in a certain direction.
This is also the reason MCP has been open sourced while the models are not. A free MCP pushes the data to the models where the value aggregates, eventually turning tokens into dollars.
This strategy is playing out within the AI market itself. Model companies want to commoditize the hardware underneath (hence their push for their own chips), driving value towards the models. In reverse, Nvidia, the hardware company, wants to commoditize models, hence its play on open source models (Poolside, and the Hugging Face acquisition).
Same with software. Model companies want to commoditize apps by making them easy to build, while software companies want to commoditize models by customizing open source ones.
Even at the geopolitical level, it is the same play. The US dominates software while China dominates hardware. China wants to commoditize the software layer so the value accrues at the hardware layer. Hence open source models.
All of these battles of the beasts are playing out in parallel, across companies and countries. That is why AI is moving at such a breathtaking pace. Everyone is racing to make someone else’s layer free.
The Box Breathing Technique used by the Navy Seals is powerful in reducing stress and anxiety immediately.
- Just a minute or two will generate a relaxation response.
- Enhances oxygen delivery
-It can also help prevent and reduce high blood pressure and lowers heart rate.
-Box Breathing can also promote long term stress resilience - changes how to be less responsive to stress and how to calm that response.
Box Breathing Technique:
1. Inhale: Breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of 4 seconds.
2. Hold: Retain the air in your lungs for a count of 4 seconds.
3. Exhale: Release all the air slowly through your mouth or nose for a count of 4 seconds.
4. Hold: Keep your lungs completely empty for a final count of 4 seconds before repeating.
Attention span and focus are going to be the next big things. Most people have already lost their ability to focus deeply. So use that advantage. Read books. Learn philosophy. Watch meaningful movies. Read thoughtful articles. Train your mind to think deeply instead of constantly seeking entertainment. While everyone else is busy consuming content, you should be busy building your mind. Because the person who can control their attention in a world full of distractions will have the power to stand apart from the crowd. And that person could be YOU.
System design round at Zepto for SDE-3:
It's currently 9 PM. 2 lakh people add Maggi to their cart at the same time. The app tells every one of them "In stock."
The dark store has 340 packets.
You can't lock stock for 2 lakh carts. If you don't lock it, 1.6 lakh people find out at checkout.
How do you show stock you can actually promise, without making the cart slow?
Google created Go
Cloudflare uses Go
Uber uses Go
Dropbox uses Go
Twitch uses Go
Docker is written in Go
Kubernetes is written in Go
Prometheus is written in Go
Terraform is written in Go
Fast compilation.
Simple concurrency.
Built for infrastructure.
Why is Go still underrated among developers?
How does mods applications even works?
I'm using Spotify and Capcut mods(all premium features are free)
But the real Spotify is also updated with my playlist from the mod Spotify, which means they are sharing the same DB, so I don't understand how that works
Were they hacked?
cursor just got nerfed into oblivion
but nobody is talking about it for some reason
this new pricing model completely kills the usage allowance for third party models
any non grok model (gpt, claude, etc) is billed as extra usage
genuinely zero reason to pay for this sub now
Being good at your job and being good at interviewing for the next one are two different skills.
The job rewards patience and judgment over months. Meanwhile, the interview rewards clear stories told in a few minutes each.
If you're employed and looking:
- Keep a private log of your projects and wins while the details are fresh.
- Turn your best ones into short stories with STAR: the situation, the task, what you did, and the result.
- Practice technical rounds and whiteboarding out loud, so you can explain your thought process as you go.
- Ask the recruiter for the exact interview format before you prep.
- Ask the interviewer what problems the team is dealing with, then show how you'd fix one using a real example from your work.
Nobody on the panel has seen your track record, you have to provide the context and tell it.
