@KathrynCanonsOn When the birds used to nab the tops of our bottles we found a milk box helped. My dad made us a cool wooden one.
Right up until neighbours started stealing them - but there wasn't a solution to that.
@AdultingADHD It was a lifesaver for my daughter and it significantly reduces my recovery time from overwhelm. It's like "oh I exist in this space" instantly grounding.
@PookyH That doesn't make you a failure. That doesn't even make you completely unrecovered or unrecoverable.
It does mean that you need to take care of yourself and your sensory needs if you can.
I hope you find some glimmers today and can see the strong person you are.
@PookyH I think that the autistic brain does tend to be "I'm in recovery" or "I've failed", but the reality is that this time of year is harder for so many reasons, not all of them related to food. So "being in recovery" uses more resources, and you just ... Didn't have enough yesterday
Tips or resources for an autistic person going into an interview?
Yes, I have told them I'm autistic, explained about my tone being weird and asked for questions to be written down to help my processing.
They added a "here's ten minutes to help you get familiar with the room"
