Our school has been waiting since July (!) for Google Workspace for Education approval while being charged for Business Plus in the meantime. EDU team acknowledged expedited request but we are still locked in annual billing while review is pending. Any help @GoogleWorkspace?
One day, we will live in a world where the terror of children, be it at the hands of the State or its protestors, will be no more.
This is not the end.
We are excited to welcome our staff and faculty back to campus this morning for Teacher Orientation! Pray for us as we prepare for the year.
Our theme for 25-26 is Delight, taken from Ps 37:4: “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."
As parents make progress on the first norm (no smartphone before 14), they increasingly notice that schools are putting screens on their kids' desks and gamifying the school day. @HadleyFreeman, in @thetimes, lays out why this must change:

Last day of population genetics this semester at WUSTL. One student comes to me after last lecture, thanking me for teaching a class he enjoyed so much.
Seems to be holding back tears.
I ask him what’s wrong, and he starts to cry. Personal issues, he says.
Soon he is telling me. He is terrified. Close family of his might be picked up by ICE and deported. This has been a constant threat through the whole semester.
He is a citizen, to be clear. And we aren’t talking about criminal family members.
This sort of terror is certainly justified in the current moment. But also it is also so regrettable.
Wish our country could do better for US citizens with immigrant spouses, parents, and children.
25 March is the date that J.R.R. Tolkien chose for the day when the One Ring was destroyed. It is the traditional date of both the Annunciation to Mary and Jesus's crucifixion. It is the date which marks the triumph of life over the forces of evil and death.
Personally, I'm not sure dismantling the smallest Cabinet department, which manages to handle the fourth-largest Cabinet budget at only 3.5% overhead, counts as efficiency.

A word of comfort from Calvin to stretch your faith today:
“…for much as we may be troubled and seem wearied out, yet we cease not to feel the divine kindness towards us, which is the most abundant consolation, and much greater than if prosperity attended all our undertakings.”
Solid reminder that the wealthiest empire with the most sophisticated military industrial complex in history, whose executive office publicly gloats at its expulsion of the global poor…
…is not now and never has been a “Christian” nation.
One day this too shall be made right.
A really helpful, balanced take on the absolute debacle currently happening with USAID:
Make foreign aid great, by @mattyglesias https://t.co/7QyBHCnqQ0
“The design of God, in permitting the remains of sin in believers, is to make them remember that the corruptions of their own nature differ in nothing from those of others.”
- Calvin, Commentary on Romans, 1539
“The greatest reward of following Jesus is, quite simply, Jesus - encountering him, knowing his presence and pleasure, understanding that our lives brought him joy and made him smile.”

I love this prayer from Jehoshaphat, when facing an army he knows he cannot defeat with human might:
“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”
- 2 Chronicles 20:12
I could not be prouder to be a part of this new initiative in my neighborhood. If you’re in STL, I’d love to give you a tour. Check us out at the link below.
