Yes, housing really is too expensive. But history tells a different story.

Most young Boomer newlyweds were renters. Today's newlyweds are more likely to own at the same point.

Yet far fewer young people marry by the same age.

For generations, marriage was part of how ordinary people built a life. Now we increasingly treat marriage as proof you've already built one.

"Forced obedience" is just wrong. It's not loving, and it's not in the biblical husbands job description. Quite the opposite.

Many guys aren't going to like me to say this, but forced obedience among women - to the extent it was ever desirable - is an impossible thing to maintain in the west today, and comes across extremely weak when you say it

A woman follows your lead because she chooses to, and she will only choose to over time because following you makes her life better

You cannot outsource authority to a role that has no institutional power behind it, so saying "I'm your husband, you must obey" has no teeth and subcommunicates a lack of individual frame and power

Like saying "this is against the law" to someone robbing you when you live in a place with no police
