Homeopathy is "medicine" made of water, alcohol, and sugar. So you're paying premium prices for fancy sugar pills containing precisely no medicine at all, all based on an 18th-century belief that "like cures like" and that shaken water somehow remembers things. Pathetic.

"But it worked for me!" Of course it did. Most illnesses fade on their own, and people reach for these pills right as they're about to recover anyway, so the sugar takes credit for timing it never controlled. Bonus: a long, caring chat with the homeopath makes you feel deeply heard while consuming absolutely nothing.

The rest of the world has caught on. The UK's NHS stopped funding it, France ended reimbursements, Germany is pushing to scrap state support, and both Spain and Australia reviewed the evidence and found a clean zero. India's bold contribution to this global reality check? Giving Melody to Meloni.

And then there's the "triangle of shame": a supplement seller with an agenda, a homeopath defending a lifetime of sugar pills, and a celebrity cheerfully endorsing both without a single critical thought between them. None of them are doctors.

So please, don't give your kids (or anyone for that matter) homeopathy, demand real science-based care, and force the government to stop funding the longest-running circus in human history.

This is a segment from my recently concluded interview with India Today in Delhi, where I went with the thought of discussing my book in depth, but was ambushed by pseudoscience apologists and sympathizers all around.
I was pleasantly shocked to see my supposed "angry, rude" posts shown on National TV for a debate, while the other posts, where Ayush practitioners who dehumanized me using racial and religious slurs such as "ricebag" , "anti-Hindu" , "son of organ thief" , "priest-abused Christian Missionary" etc.. were conveniently ignored.
Even though confrontational, riddled with ad-hominem, and hugely fallacious to a good extent, I did feel that these kind of conversations will ultimately help some realize the value of critical thinking in health and medicine.

Strange I am readying myself saying this... I was genuinely afraid this time, of sharing that I dubbed in Karuppu.

I have known R J Balaji a long time - he and his wife, are such lovely people and RJB himself, is someone whose entire life is such a story of grit, determination and a man working so, very hard to make his dreams come true. Tamil Nadu has reportedly lost the AMCA flight testing and integration project despite offering what the story itself describes as technically superior infrastructure conditions.

The report clearly states that the previous government under former CM @MKStalin had been in talks with DRDO for three years to anchor the project in Hosur. The DMK government offered 100 acres free of cost and proposed a 3.5 km runway at Hosur airport, making it strategically closer to ADA Bengaluru.

*Then what happened?*

The story itself uses the phrase “political considerations”. !!!

What political considerations?

How can strategic national defence investments be decided on political grounds?

This shift is grossly unfair to Tamil Nadu and deeply damaging to the credibility of cooperative #federalism.

I took several meetings on this single project and our team worked extremely hard over the last 3 years for this project and it personally deeply hurts to see this crucial project being shifted.

The present location is also not technically superior to the one that we offered in TN ! The union govt owes the people of Tamil Nadu an explanation.

One should also understand that a change in government should not matter with projects of such importance especially when Tamil Nadu is known for its policy continuity ! Am sure that the present dispensation will ensure the same.

Tamil Nadu cannot afford any drift at this moment.The state needs an agile and astute Minister for Industries immediately to aggressively pursue and protect strategic investments.

I also request Honourable @CMOTamilnadu Thiru. C.Joseph Vijay to personally step in on this issue at the earliest ! He must urgently write to the @PMOIndia and Honourable Minister for Defence Thiru @rajnathsingh explaining our location, manpower and infrastructural superiority.

Tamil Nadu must continue the strong industrial work done over the past 5 years and fight for every strategic investment that rightfully belongs here.

Something small happened on my flight yesterday.

IndiGo flight. Sitting next to a guy, well put together, well dressed. The kind of person you’d point to and say “educated, aware.”

He finishes his snack. Looks at the trash in his hand. And places it on the floor under the seat in front. Not accidentally. Deliberately.

The cabin crew came through for trash collection. Did their job perfectly. Collected from everyone’s hands, every tray table. The stuff on the floor, easy to miss from that angle, stayed.

We landed. His cups and food box were still sitting there on the aircraft floor.

And I just sat with this feeling I couldn’t quite name.

It wasn’t anger. It was something closer to disappointment. Or maybe exhaustion.

Because we’ve been having this conversation about civic sense in India for decades now. And nothing moves.

Here’s what I’ve come to believe. It’s not an awareness problem. It’s not an education problem. It’s not even an income problem.

It’s a “whose problem is it” problem.

Most people in India have unconsciously decided that shared spaces, flights, roads, parks, footpaths, are not their responsibility. Someone is paid to clean it. Someone will handle it.

Me? I’m just passing through.

And that mindset is exactly where the problem begins.

Because civic sense isn’t just about what you do. It’s about what you normalize.

Every time someone litters and nobody reacts, the bar drops a little lower.

Every time someone cleans up after themselves in a space nobody’s watching, the bar rises.

We are all, quietly, setting the standard for each other.

Skill India. The CAG just exposed what INR 10,194 crore of your tax money actually bought.

PMKVY ran from 2015 to 2022. Three phases. INR 14,450 crore outlay. The goal was to skill 1.32 crore youth.

CAG audited it.

Here’s what they found.

95.90 lakh participants under PMKVY 2.0 and 3.0. For 90.66 lakh of them, that’s 94.53%, the bank account field was recorded as zero, null, N/A, or just left blank. Bank accounts were mandatory for Rs 500 DBT payments.

So where did the money go?

The remaining 5.24 lakh who actually had bank details? 12,122 account numbers were repeated across 52,381 people. And some of those accounts were literally “11111111111” and “123456”. Single digit entries. Text. Names. Special characters instead of account numbers.

Now here’s the wild part.

A company called Neelima Moving Pictures (NMP). Not even registered with the Registrar of Companies. This company certified 33,493 people across 8 states in 21 job roles between January and November 2020.

When CAG went looking for NMP in October 2022, the company didn’t exist anymore. They were told it shut down during COVID.

But the photos NMP submitted as training proof? Same batch photo used for Bihar’s Gaya district, UP’s Bahraich and Shravasti, Maharashtra’s Jalgaon, and Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar. Different states. Different batches. Same photo.

Emails sent by CAG for verification? 36.51% bounced. The ones that came back? Many were sent from training partner email IDs, not the actual trainees.

2.72 lakh email addresses were null. Over 3.08 lakh were repeated.

In Bihar, 3 out of 10 training centres were physically shut when inspectors showed up. The portal still showed training was happening.

34 lakh+ certified candidates have still not received their DBT payment. Overall placement rate? Just 41%.

And the official PMKVY website? Try opening https://t.co/IreLqQt9un right now. It doesn’t even load.

INR 10,000 crore spent to skill India’s youth. 94% didn’t even have valid bank accounts on record. Ghost companies certifying thousands with recycled photos. Centres that exist on a portal but are locked on the ground.

This isn’t an allegation. This is the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s own report.

You are mixing up definitions here.

If by political Islam, political Christianity or political Judaism, you simply mean: ‘politics inspired by your faith’ then that’s not an issue at all. We are all inspired by our faiths, and should be.

If by political Christianity or political Judaism, you mean *theocracy*, then no, that is not okay, and very few people argue it is.

Islamism, on the other hand, is not Islam. It is a specific modern ideological innovation (bid’ah) that arose among Muslims in the 20th century. It was lifted from Ba’thism which was lifted from European fascism. And just like fascism, Islamism is not acceptable anywhere in the world, Western or otherwise.

Islamism is the modern desire to synchronise one version of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) with state law. Not only is this theocracy, it is also un-Islamic.

Shi’a Islamism was invented & brought in by Khomeni in 1979.

Before that, Shi’a orthodoxy prohibited claiming to rule in God’s name and stated that only the missing 12th Imam could do so once he returned. Most Shia around the world still adhere to this orthodoxy.

Khomeini invented Shi’a Islamism & called it Vilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurists). He argued that the jurists could “guard” the rule until the missing 12th Imam appeared. This is a specific & modern innovation by Khomeini. It is *not* Shia orthodoxy.

To argue that Islamism *is* Islam is the favoured line of Islamists who seek to silence orthodox Muslims who challenge their modern ideological heresy. It is *also* the favoured line of anti-Muslim bigots, who seek to paint Islam as Islamism in order to prove that Muslims are incompatible with the West.
