#c4nhsdebate it is a shame they didn’t go beyond A&E. Acute Medical Assessment has a seated assessment area with a capacity of 15 seats. On Tuesday evening there were 23 patients waiting. Overspill into the corridor. It’s a common occurrence at RSH. Lack of staff and resources
@lisawino@75ThunderRoad In my experience, not all staff/schools do recognise it. My daughter was repeatedly chastised for bad behaviour. I couldn’t make them understand it was related to her mental health. Too many demands on school and too few suitably trained support services = a ticking time bomb!
@75ThunderRoad@lisawino A mental health condition fits the definition of a disability as it is both long term and impacts on daily lives. It is sad to hear schools not recognising this. I understand why (budgets slashed, staffing cut, external pressure etc) but variation in support is a postcode lottery
@pna1977@TeacherToolkit@Andrew_Adonis@GuardianEdu@GOVUK As a primary school with well over 50% pupil premium, the vast majority don’t qualify. Need to have a social worker, have left care or be in year 10. Sadly we are having to rely on local support and charities for help.
Tomorrow (24/05/2019) we will be having our cake sale to raise money for Exotic Zoo to visit school with some animals, as arranged by the School Council. Please help us by donating cakes for the children to sell at break. Cakes will be on sale for 50p each.
SATs
💔Stress levels rising; teachers & children wrung out.
💔Arts, playtime, sports, music all cut back. Reduced curriculum and teaching to the test.
💔Teacher recruitment crisis; schools with disadvantaged children find it even harder to recruit.
👍SATs & league tables must go.

Is your MP going to the Parents briefing of Parliament on 10th Oct to hear how the funding cuts are affecting your children's school? Ask them; https://t.co/ZUgZqgYPKT
@SchoolsWeek Maybe if health and care prioritised turning up to annual reviews, core groups or other multi agency meetings it would be easier to challenge them. I don’t have resources to complete performance management of outside agencies.
@RealGeoffBarton@Literacy_Trust We buy every child in school a birthday book which is presented in assembly. It was the one thing when I took over as a head the children told me I couldn’t change (not that I ever would) as it mattered so much to them.
