#WATCH | Delhi: Joint CP Nupur Prasad says, "We have received an application from Saurav Das, Co-Convener of Cockroach Janta Party. The application is regarding an intimation for a protest on 10th October at Jantar Mantar. The protest was regarding the accountability of the CEC. This intimation was considered, and it was found that the intimation was given in a very short span of time, whereas as per the prescribed guideline, the intimation has to be received 10 days prior to the protest that is planned. Further, it is also important to mention that on an earlier occasion, when the Cockroach Janta Party was given permission to hold a protest there, they did not follow the lawful directions and did not follow their own undertakings given at that point in time. Therefore, because of not following the legal directions, their own undertaking, and the prevalent law and order situation, and to maintain public safety, law and order, and traffic regulation, this time the permission is rejected; it is not approved. It is important to mention that in the New Delhi area, Section 163 of the BNSS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita) is in operation, under which, to maintain public order and safety, a reasonable preventive restriction is in place. It is further important to mention that if anybody violates the provisions of Section 163 of the BNSS, then proper legal action will be taken against them."

@elonmusk, dear, because I greatly respect you, let me say this. Cozying up to the likes of @RahulGandhi will not escalate a Starlink license. But further delay it.

Companies all over the world successfully do business with India. As you know, foreign partnership starts with respect for the country and its leadership. Rahul lacks respect for both his own country and PM Modi. He is bad company.

And “the other guy” is one of the greatest and most powerful leaders in the world today and will be governing India a long time. You want a license? I suggest shifting your public messages to the attention of PM @narendramodi and not wannabees like Rahul.

You hv certainly stirred up plenty of reaction with ur posts. But this needs a response from me, as did ur “Electronic Voting machines can be hacked” post from some time ago.

As someone who knows a little bit abt Telecom as someone who played a decent-ish role in building Indias wireless sector as an Entrepreneur and then as a policy maker , let me share my thoughts.

It is true that Indias Telecom was a sector beset with opaqueness and corruption for several decades - where cronies ruled under the benevolent love and the politics of ur latest fan (name not withheld - @RahulGandhi )

But under PM @narendramodi , 3 principles govern the tech (including Telecom/Internet) sector.

Open, Safe & Trusted and Accountable.

✅ Open - Free from any monopoly-duopoly. Free and fair competition.

✅ #SafeAndTrusted - Infra, Network , Platforms must be safe and trusted.

✅ Accountable - Every participant should be legally accountable for safety and trust.

I was a MP first and then part of PM @narendramodi jis team when this framework was developed. I have more than a little experience of fighting years of political and bureaucratic opaqueness and corruption, which shaped these principles.
so todays India is not that old crony driven India.

I am not in govt anymore and certainly dont speak for it. But it seems to me that Govt has made it clear: all three satcom licensees are at broadly the same stage of ensuring security clearance by verifying its safety and trust first, then spectrum.

Satellite IP services have many security implications. More so in a country like India which has faced years of Terror and insurgency supported by inmical state actors in our neighbourhood. From 26/11 terror attacks to recent ones in Pahalgam, satcom has been preferred comm for Terrorists. Satellite VOIP and encryption creates more challenges security wise. Not insurmountable but new capabilities and capacity hv to be built to ensure Safety and Trust.

I hv used @Starlink and I think its awesome technology - and represents a new era in mobility innovation. No doubt.

But a country has to plan for itself and its interests before every new choice. Thats what India is doing. Patience is unavoidable and in this case is a necessity.

What is the legitimacy of this Assembly? Is this an illegal Assembly or a legal one?

Congress National President @kharge says all these elections were illegal and all Chief Ministers are illegal. So the first thing to be discussed in the Assembly, which affects me, @VMBJP ji, Gopakumar ji and 137 MLAs, is whether all of us MLAs are illegal.

A clarity on this must be provided by the CM @vdsatheesan on the floor of the House. If it is illegal, he should resign.
