We’re having a book talk at the fabulous Lit Books on Saturday 14th. Talking about my new novel “Malayan Spy”, the Cold War, pre and post colonial mindset, the craft of writing and other fun stuff. Please join us.
In case anyone is in any doubt, I don’t know how instagram reposting works. But we have a book talk event on Sunday May 4th at Eslite. We authors have done an event together before and we’re a good team. Well, I think so. Please join us if you can.
Glad I picked this up. Finished it in a few sittings, more than a decade after Confessions of an Old Boy. His storytelling still pulls me in. Witty, layered, quietly sharp. Lovely read, as always, @kamraslan. Still convinced you’re Dato’ Hamid in disguise.
I listened to you and I have written a sequel. It’s set in 1953 in London, Berlin and Malaya, called “Malayan Spy”. Hamid tries his hand at espionage. He’s not very good at it. Just looking for a publisher.
@citizenlame Congratulations! For getting the last copy. Not so much for winning a wrestling match with an old lady. But now you can buy a copy of the new reissue when it comes out very soon. In fact, you must buy several copies. Because. You know what you’ve done.
@bihzhu Sounds like the set up for an excellent romcom. So I suggest you meet up with a guy who owns a small bookshop and is raising a daughter on his own. I don’t know, you work out the details but I expect to laugh and cry and be dazzled by the Madrid cityscape.
My announcement. Is this a PDF? I’ll be having an audience with the rakyat on March 18 about life in the Coalition, what it is like under PMX and how I’ve ALWAYS been his staunchest supporter. Tickets on sale tomorrow. After having my salary cut by 20% I need alternative income.
