My Dad would've been a proud father right now cause one of her daughters has a title deed in Osona now😩🙏, world wouldn't have heard the end of it, also way we grew up in the slums of Kuryangava and I even had school mates laugh at me cause we used to live mobashu wow😩 🤣.
My Two Cents
The boys who saved the lives of the twins were rightfully recognised with a Heroes Token and N$200,000. I have seen people questioning why a blind eye is being turned to Sean and the work he has been doing.
But here’s my question: since the GRN has not done it, do we really have to wait? Can’t we, as a nation, come together and raise more than N$200,000 to recognise and reward Sean Naude for the incredible work he continues to do?
Complaining without a solution doesn’t help anyone. We can tag the whole President’s Office, but at the end of the day, Sean is always asking for help on social media, doing what he does from his own pocket and trying to make a difference.
The same people complaining now how many have actually contributed even N$1 to support him?
We can do better than this let’s stop only talking and start doing. If we truly appreciate Sean and the work he does, let’s show it..
16-Year-Old Shimuwaafeni Honoured as Hero
Sixteen-year-old Cornelius Tulotokela Shimuwaafeni of Omutundungu village in the Omusati Region has been conferred Hero Status by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah for saving the lives of nine-month-old twins.
Shimuwaafeni rescued the twins after they were thrown into a water pond on 17 May 2026, risking his own life in the process.
The citation read during the 60th commemoration of Heroes Day said Cornelius acted without hesitation, cameras or the expectation of recognition or reward. He saw lives in danger and acted.
When asked what he would have done if the children were going to die, Cornelius reportedly answered: “I was going to die with them.”
Ndaitwah highlighted his actions as an example of true heroism and challenged Namibians to reflect on who is a hero in today’s Namibia.
The recognition comes with an award of N$200,000. Minister of Finance, Ericah Shafudah, said the government is in discussions to establish a trust for Cornelius.
Dignitaries attending the Heroes Day ceremony also donated money to the young hero in recognition of his bravery and selfless act.
