The kulacūḍāmaṇi nigama states that the primordial mahiṣamardinī resides in the kāmarūpa/ kāmākhyā pīṭha, and mahiṣāsuramardinī {durgā} should be specifically worshipped there. The merit gained from worship at kāmākhyā is 100x more than the other pīṭhas. Even on seeing one’s kuladeva, mahiṣamardinī should be worshipped.
Another text tripurā-rahasya gives stotras for many gūhya forms of the goddess, and after all of it, bestows the 32 names of durgā. An inference from the text as derived from pattern recognition would deem it supreme amongst all stutis, as has also been confirmed generationally by terrific upāsakas and gurus.
