I find myself doing a lot better work, being more satisfied, and also learn a lot more+faster when I do *the hard work* and don’t outsource it to AI.
As in, I’ll use AI as a *tool* with substasks, additional research: but I don’t turn off my brain or kick back, assuming it can do the work for me.
Every time I “hand over the” hard work part to AI and mentally turn off, I either regret it or find myself eventually needing to go back and spend more time on it.
I also see slop work coming out from people who assume the AI does better work than they would.
very easy to compete with ppl who think AI will do everything for them.
anyone who feared in 2023 that AI would replace them, should feel embarrassed by now. scrub those tweets...
the game (always) is workflow maxxing.
maybe "text editing" becomes less acute.
maybe "navigation", "remote connect", "window management", "ad hoc automation", become more acute.
maybe Neovim loses to other projects that can *absorb quality* faster and more recursively.
but the game has always been to compete on that axis. "text editing" isn't the axis.
All 8 billion human beings alive today are brothers and sisters. We’re physically, mentally and emotionally the same. We all want to live a happy life and avoid suffering and we all have a right to fulfil that wish. So, it's important to acknowledge the oneness of humanity.
If you’re really fast at your tasks while others are rather slow, consider the fact that you’re sailing in your comfort zone while others have ventured out of theirs. Diversify what you do, it will help improve professionally and also become more empathetic.
PSA: If you ever feel like you learn something from my book or my videos, considering making and sharing your own explanation of it. Sharing in your own words will be a learning experience, and it makes the content more accessible to more people with different learning styles.
