HEY i'm becca i'm 24 and nb (she/they) my favorite genres are scifi and fantasy and my favorite books are dragon rider by cornelia funke and good omens by neil gaiman and terry pratchett
i reread the view from saturday in a few hours yesterday and i Really Did Not care for it anymore! i dont know if i'd go so far as to say it was Bad, because i'm not the target audience anymore, but nostalgia was definitely putting that book on a pedestal it didn't live up to
i miss the feeling of Being An Accomplished Reader i.e. finishing books quickly so ive been rereading some books i liked from my childhood, and sometimes they are still very very good and sometimes...they arent!
watership down ended up being So good that when i sat down to finish the chapter i was on before bed i accidentally stayed up literally all night and finished the other 60% of the book in one frantic sitting haha. five stars!!
I've been reading watership down on and off this year and it occurred to me that instead of messaging my group chat with screenshots every five minutes i can just put them here haha
I've started listening to every heart a doorway and i'm really enjoying the story (although i am not very much enjoying the audiobook, for some reason the narrator's voice is blowing out my headphones)
i really enjoy a main character who lives and breathes by a clear set of rules and regulations but is actually a bitch and found family is just SUCH a good trope
i started and finished tj klune's the house in the cerulean sea within 17 hours! i havent read that voraciously since i was a kid, i think it's probably the best book i've read all year and an instant favorite!! also i felt remarkably Seen through linus in a Major Way
