Police investigate homicide near downtown

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a homicide near downtown.

Shortly after 7 a.m. on January 27, 2025, officers responded to a call of unknown trouble in the 400 block of Wyandotte Street East. When officers arrived at the scene, they located an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency Medical Services personnel performed immediate first aid on the victim and transported him to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit has assumed control of the investigation and urge anyone with information about this crime to contact police.
Additionally, residents and business owners in the vicinity are asked to review their surveillance or dash cam footage, specifically between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., for video evidence that may assist with the investigation.

Police seek break-and-enter suspect

The Windsor Police Service seeks the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in connection with a residential break-and-enter.

Shortly after 5 a.m. on September 19, 2024, officers responded to a report of a break-in at a home located in the 1900 block of Huron Church Road. Officers learned that a male suspect had forcefully entered the property by kicking open the home’s front door. Once inside, the suspect was confronted by the homeowner and quickly fled the scene.

No physical injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40 to 50 years old, bald, between 5'7" and 5'9" tall, with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he wore a purple and blue shirt and beige pants.

Police seek assistance locating one of Canada’s most wanted fugitives

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance locating one of Canada’s most wanted fugitives following a shots-fired incident yesterday morning.

Shortly before 6 a.m. on June 29, officers responded to a fight involving multiple parties in the 700 block of Erie St. E. Upon arrival, officers learned that the fight involved 34-year-old Phillip Grant, a suspect wanted in connection with two Toronto homicides from 2022.

Witnesses reported that Grant fired a single gunshot and fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunshot.

Officers continue to investigate Grant’s whereabouts. He is described as a black male, approximately 6’1” and 200 lbs, with a muscular build and brown eyes, currently sporting dreadlocks and a goatee. If seen, he should not be approached.

Grant was named to the Bolo Program’s list of Canada’s most wanted fugitives following the homicides, and remains on their list of still-wanted fugitives: https://t.co/71u6ya592E. Windsor Police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect wanted in connection to an attempted break and enter.

Thomas Siroky, 40, is wanted on charges of attempted break and enter, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, and possession of break and enter tools.

Siroky is described as a white man, approximately 5’7”, and 140lbs. He has a large tattoo of a woman’s face with a bandana on the left side of his neck.

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted break and enter.

On March 25, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the pictured suspect made several attempts to gain entry into a business in the 1300 block of Provincial Rd. Before leaving, he threw a rock at the window, which caused substantial damage to the property. The suspect then fled the scene in a white Ford Taurus driven by an unknown individual.

The suspect is described as a white male between 30-40 years old. At the time of the incident, he wore dark pants, a hooded jacket, and black and white shoes.

Police seek information on two shooting incidents

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s help to provide information on two separate shooting incidents.

On March 21, 2024, just after 9 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of Howard Ave. Through investigation, officers learned that multiple shots were fired at the residence. Several shell casings were located at the scene.

In a second incident on March 21, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., multiple shots were fired at a residence in the 1000 block of Lincoln Rd.

No one was physically injured as a result of either incident.

Members of our Major Crimes Unit are investigating and believe both incidents were targeted and may be related. Investigators have since located a photo of a dark SUV in the area of Howard Ave. at the time of the shooting and is considered a vehicle of interest.

Residents with surveillance or dashcam footage – particularly those who live in the 1000 block of Lincoln Rd., the 1600 block of Howard Ave., and the surrounding residential areas – are asked to check for video evidence between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on March 21, 2024.

3 arrested, 1 sought for home invasion

The Windsor Police Service has arrested three suspects and is seeking one other in connection to a home invasion last month.

On March 18, 2024, officers responded to a reported break-in at a house in the 1400 block of Aspenshore Avenue. Two men wearing masks and carrying a firearm forced their way into the home, assaulted two elderly occupants, and stole a large quantity of jewelry before fleeing the scene. Both occupants were treated for minor physical injuries.

The Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation and identified four suspects as conspirators in the home invasion.

On April 9, officers arrested Jason Makulski, 36, at a residence in the 2600 block of Lloyd George Boulevard. Raymond Hunter, 41, was taken into custody at a business in the 3200 block of Devon Drive.

Yesterday, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad arrested Lawrence Chinyangwa, 32, at a residence in the 5400 block of Reginald St.

Makulski and Hunter have each been charged with the following:
- Robbery with an offensive weapon (x 2)
- Assault with a weapon (x 2)
- Pointing a firearm (x 2)
- Possession of a weapon to commit an offence
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Break and enter into a dwelling with intent to commit an offence
- Wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- False representation of a peace officer

Chinyangwa has been charged with the following:
- Robbery with an offensive weapon (x 2)
- Assault with a weapon (x 2)
- Pointing a firearm (x 2)
- Possession of a weapon to commit an offence
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Break and enter into a dwelling with intent to commit an offence
- Wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- False representation of a peace officer
- Failure to comply with a release order

Investigators continue to search for suspects Nicholas McCullough, 30.

McCullough is described as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, and 187lbs, with a muscular build. He may have short dark brown and a trimmed beard. He is known to frequent Chatham-Kent, London, and Sarnia.

He is wanted on the following charges:
- Robbery with an offensive weapon (x 2)
- Assault with a weapon (x 2)
- Pointing a firearm (x 2)
- Possession of a weapon to commit an offence
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited (x 7)
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Break and enter into a dwelling with intent to commit an offence
- Wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- False representation of a peace officer

He is also currently the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for a variety of other charges.

Two suspects sought in home invasion

The Windsor Police Service is looking for two suspects following a home invasion in the city’s east end.

On March 18, 2024, shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to a report about a break-in at a house in the 1400 block of Aspenshore Ave. Two men wearing masks and carrying a firearm forced their way into the home. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the home’s occupant, a 72-year-old man, and the two engaged in a physical altercation. The other suspect pushed the home’s second occupant, a 71-year-old woman. Both occupants received minor physical injuries as a result.

The intruders stole a quantity of property before fleeing the scene.
The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’0” and 200 pounds. At the time of the incident, he wore a blue hoodie, mask, dark pants, and gloves.
The second suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’2” and 220 pounds. At the time of the incident, he wore a grey hoodie, grey track pants, a surgical mask, and gloves.

Investigators ask everyone who lives in the area to check their dashcam or surveillance footage for evidence related to this case.
