But shouldn't the blame be on whoever gave them the permission in the first place? Not to mention the organizers literally had to rewrite the rules after the day they "cheated".?

It was just a friendly event, both players admitted to the stream sniping and apologized. At least that's the story on the VN side. But how on earth did things blow up to this?
