Umbrella Crab (Cryptolithodes sitchensis), also known as a Turtle Crab or Sitka Crab. It is native to coastal regions and is known for its wide, triangular carapace that extends over its legs, resembling a shield or umbrella. The species is a master of camouflage, staying perfectly still to disguise itself as a rock or seafloor debris rather than relying on speed. Umbrella crabs are highly variable in color, ranging from sandy to bright orange, red, or purple.
