Muttusvāmi Dīkṣitar, an initiate of the Śrīvidyā tradition, was also deeply versed in Yoga, Vedānta, Jyotiṣa Śāstra, and Āyurveda and other śāstras. His vast learning, combined with a mastery of Saṅgīta Śāstra, made his compositions profound reflections of both divine experience and civilisational depth.
Dīkṣitar’s ouvre stands as a microcosm of the Indic epistemic framework, wherein his compositions reflect one seamless vision of consciousness - a synthesis of śāstra, sādhana and bhakti. His legacy reminds us that knowledge in Bhārata was never fragmented but profoundly interconnected.
This clip is part of a lecture series by musician and author @kanniks, who has authored a book detailing Dīkṣitar’s legacy, titled ‘Anubhuti - Experiencing Muthusvami Dikshitar’.
