Just found out how the WhatsApp login on Hotstuff actually works and it's not just a UX skin

@privy_io splits your wallet's private key into 3 pieces the moment you log in. one lives on your device, one sits in a secured enclave, one's your recovery share. any 2 of the 3 can reconstruct access, but no single party (not Hotstuff, not Privy) ever holds the full key at once

So when people say "no seed phrase" they don't mean the wallet is custodial, they mean the key management moved somewhere you don't have to babysit it yourself. you're still self-custodial the whole time

Practically: type your WhatsApp number, confirm, you have a wallet. no extension, no 12 words taped under your keyboard, no "which chain is this again"

Did the math on RWA perp fees across DEXs so you don't have to. results aren't close.

quick example — $50k position, taker order:
- Hotstuff: $12.50 in fees, and if you're on the maker side you get $1 back instead of paying
- Hyperliquid: $22.50
- dYdX: $25
- GMX: $25–35 to open+close, zero rebate either way
- Ostium: $20 open, $0 close, but still zero maker rebate

that's not a small gap. that's some DEXs charging you almost 2x more just to open the same trade.

meanwhile my two open RWA shorts this week:

Most people using @pacifica_fi only ever hit "Market" and wonder why fees eat their PnL.

Here's what actually changes your execution:

Market → fills instantly, you're a taker, you pay taker fees. Use it when speed > price.

Limit → you set the price, order sits on the book. Use it when price > speed.

The part nobody uses: Time-in-Force.
- GTC — stays open till filled or cancelled
- IOC — fills what it can now, cancels the rest
- ALO (Post Only) — only posts if it won't match instantly, so you're guaranteed a maker, not a taker

Stop Market → triggers a market order at your level. Best for "get me out, no matter the price."

Stop Limit → same trigger, but fills as a limit order. You control price, but in a fast move it might not fill at all.

Tested ALO vs a plain limit order on the same size this week — same trade, lower fee, because ALO forces maker execution instead of taker.

None of these are "better." Market/Stop Market = certainty of execution. Limit/Stop Limit + ALO = certainty of price and lower cost. Most traders should be mixing both depending on entry vs exit.

Сlosed two RWA shorts this week and honestly the fees are what sold me on @tradehotstuff, not just the PnL

GOLD-PERP short, 25x → +23.72%
SILVER-PERP short, 20x → +32.58%

but here's the actual reason I keep coming back — the fee math:

Taker / Maker (base tier, no volume needed):
- Hotstuff → 0.025% / −0.002% (yes, you get PAID as a maker from trade #1)
- Hyperliquid → 0.045% / 0.015%
- dYdX → 0.05% / 0.01%
- GMX → 0.05–0.07% open+close, no maker rebate at all
- Ostium (the RWA specialist) → 0.04% open / 0% close, still no maker rebate

Hotstuff is basically half the taker cost of Hyperliquid, and the ONLY venue paying you to add liquidity from day one. Maker rebates scale up to −0.013% once your maker volume share crosses 10% — nobody else in RWA perps does that.

gold and silver perps have been printing all month and every RWA trade just drips points on top of PnL. that's free upside sitting on the table if you're not trading RWA pairs yet.
