En este torneo, ha callado muchas bocas. 2025 puede que no fuese su mejor año en cuanto a títulos y logros, pero fue el ÚNICO que cuestionó el reinado de Alcaraz y Sinner.

Mientras otros jóvenes van por el circuito sin fe, sin convicción, sin respuestas y, en ciertos casos, sin ganas de poner el trabajo y tiempo que se requiere para igualarlos (ya no digo superarlos), él, a sus 38 años, sí lo ha hecho.

Esta pretemporada ha trabajado especialmente para dar un paso adelante en lo físico e intentarlo. Su mejora ha sido evidente. Ha ganado a Sinner, y no estuvo lejos de llevar a un quinto a Alcaraz.

Me asombra que un tipo que lo ha ganado todo y que no tiene nada que demostrar a nadie sea capaz de simplemente plantearse el reto de ganar a Jannik y Carlos. Imagina si encima se acerca a lograrlo.

Es una cosa increíble. Para sacarse el sombrero. Sin Djokovic, este torneo no habría sido igual. Hay que agradecer cada torneo, cada partido que sigue jugando. Es un regalo tenerle.

Quizá no mucha gente lo sepa ahora, pero con el tiempo se darán cuenta de lo que era Nole y lo bueno que fue tenerle tantos años en el tenis.

Novak’s greatness has never been only about his innumerable titles—it is about his character. About standing alone. About enduring doubt, pressure, and expectation, and still showing up with the same fire.

That is why he belongs in the company of figures larger than sport itself. Like Muhammad Ali, he carried conviction and fought battles far beyond the scoreboard. And he will continue doing so.

Novak Djokovic didn’t lose in Melbourne tonight. He showed us what timeless greatness looks like.

@Yolitatennis now I can imagine how Federer would have felt after 2019 Wimbledon final, we were not that close but it is not so good feeling loosing another GS final (not easy anymore). But we solved the Jannik puzzle , let’s move on.
