1000 RTs and I’d create a short thread on Durga Ma & her devotee Guru Gobind Singh that will leave SGPC McSikhs & Khalistanis no place to hide.

The Interim Budget for FY 2024-25 in an election year is quite remarkable. Exceeding fiscal deficit targets, not yielding to the temptation to resort to pre-election individual short-term welfare measures, continuing focus on infrastructure, investment and R&D, maintaining healthy balance between welfare and growth are all admirable in a complex, fractious democracy. The greatest challenge in a poor country is to reconcile between the short-term welfare and long-term public good. On that score, the Budget is very successful, and it shows:
1. GoI's quiet confidence that the people will recognise and value their achievements over the decade.
2. The govt's commitment to practice fiscal discipline and boost investment.
3. A recognition that financial stability is vital for investment and long-term growth.
Congratulations to the FM, Ms Nirmala Sitharaman for an excellent, growth-oriented Budget.
No subsidy can match higher incomes. Union government is giving subsidies to a tune of ₹6,00,000 crore, States are spending ₹3,00,000 crore more. But the lot of the farmers is not improving because of short-sighted policies and knee-jerk reactions.

Prakrit is believed to be a middle Indic language enroute to the evolution of regional vernaculars from Sanskrit - yet the verses of the Gaja Sattasai don't readily resemble modern Indian languages. The Sanskrit translation is easier to comprehend.

@amitvarma This episode was delightful. Would be fascinating to get Dr Sattar's thoughts on versions of the Ramayana outside India. The story is popular and widely performed across South East Asia. Are there South East Asian texts of the Ramayana as well?
A lot of people spend time browsing through media whose business model isn’t built around accuracy then spend time feeling aggrieved that some of the stories are bad — you could always try to read different stuff!
