Why does the UK seem to have lost direction like this? They keep rotating PMs, seem unclear where they want to go, seem to be bleeding out economically and politically. Who can help me understand why?
You can see it in the silence.
You can hear it when your friend says, "I'm managing."
The dangerous thing is that we are slowly treating survival habits as normal life.
How many of the things we now call discipline are actually just coping mechanisms?
Nigerians are fucked.
I just watched a man stand beside a food vendor for almost ten minutes.
He asked the price of rice, beans and one meat nodded his head removed his phone and pretended to answer a call.
"Hello? I'm close. Let me come first." Then walked away.
Nobody laughed.
People now avoid weddings because of transport costs.
Friends stop calling because they cannot contribute.
People stay indoors on weekends, not because they want rest, but because going outside has become an expense.
I sit quietly and realize that God has been taking care of me this whole time.
Maybe not in luxurious ways.
Maybe not with an easy life, but through protection, provision, good health, surviving hard days, and always having just enough to keep going.
As things unfold, it becomes clear that the market is now less interested in threats and more interested in consequences. Traders focus has shifted away from headlines and toward evidence.
Now the market appears responsive rather than necessarily fearful.
"In 1987, American Express introduced platinum card for 5000 people, here is mine, they later introduced the Black card (Centurion card) in 1999 for 1000 people on the planet, here is mine. I had a viable business and while I don't regret going into Politics, it made me poorer." - Peter Obi, NDC Presidential Candidate.
Dear @guzu_p.
I have thought about writing this for a while.
The day I saw your quote tweet, I was in meeting. Like most people would, I opened the notification to see what happened. I read your post and my first reaction was confusion.
I immediately started asking myself questions
“Did I do something wrong “?
“Have I offended hime before “?
I checked my timeline repeatedly, trying to understand what led to that moment, the more i search, the less I found. I couldn’t point to anything that justified the attention I was receiving.
But I remain silent.
Not because I didn’t see them.
I sat quietly and asked for Wisdom.
I keep asking myself, how do i respond,
Instead of joining the noise, I choose silence.
People who had never heard of me before suddenly knew my name.
People discovered my work.
People saw my craft.
People met the woman behind the brand.
As a shoemaker trying to build something meaningful, visibility is not something I take for granted. Many talented people work tirelessly everyday and never get seen.
Thank you for introducing my work to people who may never have come across my page otherwise.
Life has taught me that blessings do not always arrive wrapped the way we expect sometimes, they come disguise as challenges. Sometimes they come through unexpected people.
May we all continue to grow, learn and make room for wisdom in moment when emotions could easily take over.
With Gratitude.
Victory.
This World Cup na very dangerous setup. You fit go sleep with 57 running tickets wake up to 0 because some idiot decided to be a hero and make 15 fucking saves in the middle of the night when no one was even fucking watching
@blizzstilldey@PenTitan Skill issues. Find person note way complete steal am keep am for house. Buy another book and start writing for where that person note stopped.
But you know that the US agency paying you 7 figures in Naira was running the same geo-arbitrage. Bypassing US rates is how they absorbed the risk of hiring unproven talent.
What if the Nigerian founder is just doing the same math?
A lot of you guys are angry with this take, and I don't care. 🤣
I became what I am today because of a Black American agency. They trained and hired me, and paid me 7 figures in Naira without experience. I also started training others and had a direct impact in the tech space in less than 2 years of joining the tech space from Nigeria.
People started making their first million. But there's a limit to the quality opportunities people can access. The same thing Indians did.
Cut me off that pay conversation, abeg. You can pay people well without taking advantage of them.
Imagine a Nigerian has a virtual assistant agency and she hires only Filipinos. Lmao.
We don't like ourselves, and we love individualism.
And before you come back to sell me tech courses, please cut me some slack. I'm only a broke man living in the trenches.
Happy for the little I do but we would get better everyday. ♥️♥️
