This is such a beautiful song. It was written by Ric Ocasek, but he felt that the song needed a better vocal performance than he could give, so he let bandmate Benjamin Orr sing it instead. A very wise, and selfless, move. Unfortunately, Ben died of pancreatic cancer in 2000. Gone but never forgotten and the music will live on forever.
The Cars - Drive (Live Aid 1985)
The Cars 🎩🪄 Dangerous Type (1979)
One of the band's coolest deep cuts, powered by Ric Ocasek's detached vocals and Elliot Easton's killer guitar work.
Never a big chart hit, but a fan favorite and a perfect example of The Cars' new wave magic.

Fun Fact: 🎸
Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” was inspired by the Mark Twain character… but that’s not the full story.
Neil Peart wrote the lyrics after reading a poem called “Tom Sawyer” by his friend Pye Dubois (from Max Webster). He then reimagined it as a modern-day rebel — “a modern-day warrior, mean, mean stride.”
The result? One of the most iconic rock songs ever, with that legendary bass line and drum fill that still gives chills.
Who else thinks this is peak Rush? 🤘
