So companies have systems that filter out applicants!??
What do you mean 2 minutes after submitting my application, the rejection email comes in.?😹
These guys don’t even give us a chance to show what we can do!
Good morning, dear handsome @assempebwa ,
I write this with genuine frustration and concern as someone who uses the Northern Bypass every morning on my way to work.
Honestly, it is becoming difficult to understand whether the contractor assigned to carry out these repairsor reconstruction, whichever term applies is delivering value for the inconvenience being caused to road users.
First, why isn’t most of this work being done at night so that normal traffic flow can continue during the day? This morning, I was on the road by 8:00 a.m. and, surprisingly, there was barely any activity at the site no visible engineers, no active work ongoing. Yet the section under construction is not even one kilometre long.
Secondly, what exactly was wrong with that section of the road? There were no visible potholes, and it does not appear that the road is being expanded. From the outside, it looks like a good layer is being removed only to be replaced with similar material. Meanwhile, there are many roads in far worse condition that urgently need intervention.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to channel this energy and resources toward already dilapidated roads instead of disrupting movement on a bypass that appeared functional?
As citizens, we appreciate development and infrastructure improvement, but we also expect efficiency, transparency, and consideration for the daily realities of road users.
Yours sincerely,
Achom Emily

A period should never be a barrier to education, confidence, or opportunity. Access to clean water, safe toilets, soap, and privacy is not a luxury, it is a necessity for every girl.
When schools and communities invest in WASH services, they invest in girls’ health, confidence, and future. Every girl deserves a safe space to manage her period.

What would make your school or community more period-friendly?
I think schools should also offer menstrual health education to both girls and boys to reduce stigma and misinformation.
Supportive teachers, parents, and community leaders who openly discuss menstruation can help create an environment where girls feel confident and do not miss school because of their periods.
Ultimately, a period-friendly community ensures that menstruation is treated as a normal part of life and that no girl is disadvantaged because of it.

What is the biggest challenge girls in your community face during their periods?
In my community, girls struggle with;
1. Limited access to affordable sanitary pads or other menstrual products.
Inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities in schools and communities.
2. Lack of private, clean toilets where they can change and manage their periods with dignity.
3. Stigma, myths, and cultural taboos surrounding menstruation, which often prevent open discussion and support.
4. Missing school due to fear of leakage, embarrassment, pain, or lack of menstrual supplies.

KIND REQUEST🙏🏾
Whoever has any video frames of the rugby guy being beaten, kindly share them via the email in my bio or my DMs. I am trying to analyze them frame by frame and maybe try to identify some faces!
Kindly retweet for awareness!
I think every school should be able to/ work towards ensuring that they have pads to save a girl on a day she’s unprepared for her period.
What is one thing every school should have to become more period-friendly?

So what can we do better ?
Addressing this gap requires more than simply constructing toilets or installing water points. Governments, schools, health institutions, and development partners must adopt a holistic approach that integrates menstrual health and hygiene into all WASH planning and service delivery.
This includes ensuring access to affordable menstrual products, providing private and safe sanitation facilities with water and disposal systems, and delivering comprehensive menstrual health education for both girls and boys

Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) remains one of the most visible yet under-prioritized gaps within Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) systems.
Across Uganda, Rwanda and so many other countries, many women and girls continue to manage menstruation without reliable access to safe water, adequate sanitation facilities, or accurate
information.
These challenges extend far beyond physical discomfort; they directly affect dignity, confidence, school attendance, and full participation in daily life.
