The Union Gov led by Modi-Shah had announced the 'Social Security Code, 2020' in which under Section 45 they promised to formulate a scheme for platform workers and gig workers. It has been 6 years since then and no scheme for social security has been formulated.

Whereas Rajasthan Gov led by @ashokgehlot51 for the first time in 2023 had passed an Act and established a Board for their welfare.

Karnataka Gov led by @siddaramaiah had introduced Gov. interference between workers and platform and set up an Appellate Body for their grievances.

It's high time that there is some regulation and social security of platform workers are ensured.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुज़फ़्फ़रनगर में बंधुआ मज़दूरी का ऐसा दिल दहलाने वाला मामला सामने आया है जो किसी भी सभ्य समाज में स्वीकार नहीं किया जा सकता।

खबरों के मुताबिक, मज़दूरों को बंधक बनाकर रखा गया था। उन्हें मेहनताना देने की जगह भयानक यातनाएं दी जाती थीं। सूखी रोटी और मवेशियों का चारा खिलाया जाता था। धारदार हथियारों और कोड़े से मारा जाता था। कुत्तों से कटवाया जाता था।

यह सिर्फ़ कुछ व्यक्तियों पर क्रूरता नहीं, बल्कि मानवीय गरिमा पर और हमारे संविधान पर हमला है। मामले में सख़्त कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए और दोषियों को ऐसी सज़ा मिलनी चाहिए जो नज़ीर बने।

छल-बल से सजे साम्राज्य के विरुद्ध, टूटे मनोबलों के साथ खड़ा योद्धा

राहुल गांधी होना शायद उतना आसान नहीं है, जितना दूर से दिखाई देता है।

लोगों को यह दिखता है कि वह एक राजनीतिक परिवार में पैदा हुए, लेकिन वह डर, दर्द और अकेलापन नहीं दिखता जिसके साथ उनका बचपन गुज़रा। जिस उम्र में एक बेटे को अपने पिता के साथ और उनके मार्गदर्शन की सबसे ज़्यादा ज़रूरत होती है, उसी उम्र में उन्होंने अपने पिता को खो दिया। परिवार ने राजनीति से दूरी बनाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन परिस्थितियां उन्हें फिर उसी रास्ते पर ले आईं।

राजनीति में आने के बाद उन्हें केवल राजनीतिक विरोध का सामना नहीं करना पड़ा, बल्कि उनके बारे में एक ऐसी छवि गढ़ी गई जिसका मकसद उन्हें गंभीरता से लेने से रोकना था। वर्षों तक उनका मज़ाक बनाया गया, उन पर तंज कसे गए, उनके परिवार और उनकी मां तक को निशाना बनाया गया, चरित्र हनन किया गया, शायद ही भारतीय राजनीति में किसी नेता के खिलाफ इतने व्यवस्थित तरीके से नकारात्मक नैरेटिव खड़ा किया गया हो। उनकी छवि खराब करने के लिए हजारों करोड़ खर्च किये गए। मीडिया और सत्ता ने मिलकर राहुल गांधी के खिलाफ़ हर कोशिश की जिससे के वो कभी राजनीति में स्थापित न हो पाएं।

लेकिन इन सबके बीच राहुल गांधी की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता यही रही कि उन्होंने प्रतिक्रिया में नफरत का रास्ता नहीं चुना। जितना उन्हें गिराने की कोशिश हुई, उतनी ही मजबूती से वे खड़े हुए। जब उनके कई तथाकथित साथी रास्ता बदलकर सत्ता के साथ चले गए, तब भी उन्होंने अपना रास्ता नहीं बदला।

उन्होंने साफ कहा कि राजनीति डर और नफरत फैलाने की नहीं, लोगों को जोड़ने की होनी चाहिए। हार-जीत से ऊपर उठकर उन्होंने अपनी नैतिकता और विचारों पर समझौता करने से इनकार किया। जिस व्यक्ति को "शहज़ादा" कहकर कमज़ोर दिखाने की कोशिश की गई, उसी ने भारत को जोड़ने और लोगों के बीच संवाद कायम करने के लिए हज़ारों किलोमीटर की पैदल यात्रा की।

आज भी जब किसान, युवा, छात्र, मजदूर या समाज का कोई कमजोर वर्ग अपनी आवाज़ उठाता है, तो राहुल गांधी अक्सर उनके बीच खड़े दिखाई देते हैं। उनसे सहमत या असहमत हुआ जा सकता है, लेकिन यह नहीं कहा जा सकता कि उन्होंने आसान रास्ता चुना।

देश की राजनीति में वे उस योद्धा की तरह खड़े हैं जो छल-बल से सजे एक शक्तिशाली साम्राज्य के सामने, टूटे हुए मनोबलों को साथ लेकर लड़ रहा है। परिणाम चाहे जो हों, लेकिन संघर्ष से पीछे हटना उनकी फितरत नहीं दिखती।

ये उस भारत के लाचार युवा हैं - जिसकी सरकार अपने अरबपति दोस्तों पर लाखों करोड़ लुटा देती है, पर अपने ही छात्रों को एक सुरक्षित सफ़र तक नहीं दे सकती।

चुनाव के वक़्त यही सरकार पूरी-पूरी ट्रेनों का इंतज़ाम कर लेती है। और परीक्षा देने जा रहे छात्रों के हिस्से में आती है - भीड़, घुटन, और बेबसी।

इससे बड़ा सबूत क्या होगा कि मोदी सरकार छात्रों की गूंज सुनना ही नहीं चाहती।

पर मैं वादा करता हूँ - हम यह आवाज़ उन बहरे कानों तक पहुँचाएँगे। हर छात्र को उसका हक़ मिलेगा, उसका न्याय मिलेगा।

Another counsel for a defendant: As a reaction to them, certain defendants posted videos in reaction. According to them our reactions are defamatory. Their case is there are 18 content posted by 8 defendants on different platforms. All these different contents have different cause of action. They have bundled all this in a single suit. This is not maintainable. They should have filed different suits.

कल 6 जून को कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी का दिल्ली में प्रदर्शन होना है। एक तरफ़ तो यह बेहद रोमांचक है कि चीफ जस्टिस की एक अमर्यादित टिप्पणी के ख़िलाफ़ तंज़ के रूप में शुरू हुआ कोई ऑनलाइन अभियान किसी पार्टी का रूप ले ले और उसमें 10 लाख से अधिक युवा ऑनलाइन सदस्यता ले लें। 8 लाख से अधिक युवा शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफ़े की माँग करने वाली याचिका पर हस्ताक्षर कर दें। सोशल मीडिया पर “कॉकरोच” शब्द का दबदबा हो, और 2 करोड़ से अधिक युवा इनके इंस्टाग्राम पेज से जुड़ जाएँ। इसमें बेशक पिछले कुछ वर्षों में हुए सैकड़ों पेपर लीक और हाल के दिनों में NEET तथा CBSE के विद्यार्थियों के साथ हुई नाइंसाफ़ी एक बड़ी वजह रही है।

यात्रा, धरना-प्रदर्शन, कलेक्ट्रेट घेराव और चिंतन बैठक जैसे पारंपरिक तथा कई बार नीरस हो चुके राजनीतिक कार्यक्रमों में सक्रिय हम जैसे लोगों के लिए कल का दिन उम्मीद और डर दोनों लेकर आ रहा है। एक तरफ़ तो कल के प्रदर्शन के सफल होने की कामना है दूसरी तरफ़ सरकार का इनके प्रति रवैया कुछ नए सवाल भी खड़े करेगा।

बहुत सारे सवाल हैं मन में। हमें यह भी बहुत ज़िम्मेदारी से देखना होगा कि इसमें दुनिया की दूसरी बड़ी शक्तियों की भारत को लेकर कोई ख़ास मंशा तो नहीं है। कहीं Meta और X जैसी शक्तियाँ किसी algorithm और किसी ख़ास keyword के सहारे, ऐसे आर्थिक संकट के दौर में किसी प्रकार का हस्तक्षेप करने का प्रयास तो नहीं कर रही हैं, मुझे उम्मीद है ऐसा नहीं हो रहा है लेकिन ऐसे कई सारे सवाल हैं जिन्हें हमें आने वाले समय में सुलझाना ही होगा।

कल के लिए बहुत सारी शुभकामनाओं के साथ, थोड़ी सतर्कता बरतने का एक छोटा सा निवेदन है। छात्र-युवा एकता ज़िंदाबाद ✊

And I sat with the people who live there. Tribal communities, whose land is being taken away by violating the Forest Rights Act. Settlers, many of them former soldiers, placed on these islands by the Indian government, who aren’t getting fair compensation.

The Modi government and BJP tells you Great Nicobar Project is about defence. It is not.

Expand INS Baaz - we will back the government fully. The Navy has been asking for expansion for five years - it has been ignored.

They tell you it is about a transhipment port. It is not. India is already building one in Kerala, which is on the mainland.

What it actually is: 1.5 crore trees felled. Coral reefs erased from official maps. Soldiers and tribals displaced - so one businessman can build hotels and casinos on India’s most irreplaceable ecological land.

Every young Indian I have spoken to understands this. You know that no amount of profit is worth destroying what can never be recovered.

I stand for ecologically balanced development. These islands can be the most extraordinary sustainable destination the world has ever seen. That is the India worth fighting for.
