I also don't understand some of the decisions. Leaving a player like Kobbie Mainoo on the bench is difficult to justify. He's calm under pressure, progresses the ball well, and brings balance to the midfield. Sometimes you need players who can control the rhythm, not just run.

Defensively, England didn't look convincing. They missed leadership, communication, and physical presence. Watching the game, I couldn't help but feel that someone like Harry Maguire would have given that back line more stability. Every team needs defenders who organize those around them, especially in difficult matches.

England have enough quality to compete with anyone, but if they want to challenge for the biggest trophies, the decisions on the touchline and the balance of the team have to improve."
