I have received information that the proposal regarding the declaration of the Immadi Pulikeshi Cave at Badami as a National Monument has been taken up for consideration. A site inspection has already been conducted by ASI to assess the archaeological and historical significance of the site. The formal proposal for protection under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Act, 1958, is presently under preparation and will be forwarded to the Directorate for further necessary notification.

Mostly you wouldn't have.

Because our history books mostly didn't glorify Hindu Emperors who fought on the battlefield even at age 80, defending Sanatana Dharma 😔

By 1336 CE, all the Hindu kingdoms of south India with the exception of the Hoysala Empire had been defeated and large areas annexed by the Sultanate of Delhi. The early 14th century was really bad as invasion after invasion came south, destroying lots of Hindu temples, and subjugating the mighty Yadavas, Pandyas, Kakatiyas and more.

The Hoysalas were attacked multiple times, but they fought back. Veera Ballala 3 was getting old, but he resisted. He bought Hindus valuable decades by shifting capital (from Halebeedu in Karnataka to Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu), moving constantly across the south river to river, regrouping and fighting.

And it paid off. By the time he fought his final battle at age 80, defending Dharma, a new hope called Vijayanagara was starting on Tungabhadra river bank. He died at age 80 fighting a war, but his tremendous legacy of not accepting defeat throughout his 50 long years of rule, and repeatedly fighting back, should be remembered by every Hindu today. He reconstructed Halebeedu temples twice, after plunders.

Remember such heroes. Dharma is alive because they never accepted defeat!
