@Abramjee I am South African, whose had two green ID books and three SA passports. But because I wasn’t born here (although to parents that are South African) and I was registered here in this country as a baby, I can’t apply for a new Smart ID.

@SADHomeAffairs can a citizen (born in Zimbabwe to a South African father); and lived here all my life, and voted as a citizen, paid taxes as a citizen… not apply for a SMARTCARD????

@SADHomeAffairs as a South African Citizen, I was denied the opportunity to get a SmartCard, with my new married surname. I was told that because I wasn’t born here, I cannot hold a smart card but only the green ID book, which can only be issued in Dobsonville
