At a TFCC reception on June 18, President Lai thanked foreign correspondents for showing the world Taiwan’s democracy, freedom, and vitality. Amid Beijing’s growing pressure on Taiwan coverage, he urged continued reporting on a free, resilient, and prosperous democratic Taiwan.
