So..... one of my #reflections today has been that if 2020 didn’t unravel in this very way... maybe I would take the leaps and bounds of chances in my teaching this year #day2#determined#KeepPounding
Thank you, @lester_laminack. This was a very different “Back to School” classroom set up this year, but I refuse to let September remain quiet in my classroom, wherever it is!
#TCRWP PUOS teachers, be sure to check out the new resources on your OLR. There are new, short, phonological awareness assessments along with some quick #phonics & #reading ones to support you in understanding what your readers and writers need!
@ConferringCarl @Mattglover123@danfeigelson I teach at a small, charter elementary school in Newark, NJ. We are all remote until at least the end of the first marking period. I am struggling with how to balance the importance of writing conferences with keeping the rest of the class engaged while remote.
These questions are excellent inclusive alternatives to "what did you do this summer". That question often highlights social inequities and puts Ss on the spot, some of whom may not have had a great summer. #backtoschool#RelationshipsFirst
I can still remember the teacher who inspired me to teach, calling my parents to let them know something little, but incredibly significant in my life ❤️
I made breakout room choice doors where Ss will "go" to during their work time. We're using Google Meet & I plan to link different Meet links to each 🚪so Ss can collaborate, work alone, or get extra help. Honoring differences & personalizing instruction!
