Damn. @RepTedLieu just outright said it.
Yesterday, a STAT News item about an unnamed "79-year-old" patient receiving a new drug went viral, being as it was published just after Trump's 80th birthday party.
Lieu, who is not shy about challenging Trump in plain terms — and who ought to be an example for his colleagues on that front — questioned why the President decided to hold bipartisan housing legislation hostage in an ongoing attempt to rig the midterms.
"When Donald Trump decides he's not coming to sign the bill, well, why is that? Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Is he unable to stay awake today? What's causing him to chicken out again? Is it TACO Wednesday, or is it side effects from a drug?" Lieu asked, but he was far from done with the topic.
After referencing Trump's increasingly erratic and reckless behavior, he continued.
"He has trouble staying awake at multiple White House events and cabinet meetings, he has clearly some weakness in one of his arms, he's got swelling in his hands, and the White House needs to come clean.
"[There was a] report saying that one person in America got this special new drug. It was a 79-year-old person who's very high profile, and this drug can only be given to someone under the compassionate use provision, meaning you do that if someone basically has a terminal illness," Lieu continued.
More Democrats need to be as bold and truthful as Rep. Lieu.
This is a Jenga block tower of gargantuan coverups, and we appear to be watching it slowly collapse.
Good. Keep pulling, America.
Algae in the reflecting pool? Check.
Big Mac wrappers littering the White House? Check.
Refusing to sign bipartisan housing legislation and instead focus on voter suppression? Check.
Another week of winning for the president.
Who saw this a while back and just KNEW this was not gonna end well?
Trump made his motorcade drive down the reflecting pool before it was sealed.
The contractor didn’t clean up the motor oil and tire dust, they just painted right over it.
The paint failed exactly as predicted.
By June, massive gashes of blue lining were peeling off in the exact shape of the motorcade’s path. The oil trapped underneath stopped the paint from sticking.
Surface prep 101.
Six innocent people arrested.
The President is refusing to sign my provision to ban private equity from mass-purchasing homes.
He's trying to use it as leverage to jam through his voter suppression bill.
When authoritarians feel their grip on power slipping, they start pulling stunts like this.
Let’s be clear here: Trump is holding this bipartisan and bicameral housing bill hostage because he wants to disenfranchise voters ahead of the midterms.
He literally does not care about lowering our costs.
This bill passed 358-32 in the House. Something with that much bipartisan support is rare, and yet Trump is now refusing to sign one of the largest housing affordability bills in decades. Americans want cheaper housing, not tantrums from the Oval Office.
TRUMP: We have a ballroom that's under budget. It's going up right here. I've doubled the size of it because we obviously need that.
REPORTER: The price doubled
TRUMP: I doubled the size of it, you dumb person. You are not a smart person.
When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit.
Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero.
We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people.
We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing.
Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run.
That’s what New Yorkers deserve. And that’s what we will keep fighting for every single day.
The admin of Donald Trump - who decorates everything he owns with gold - wants to slash critical assistance for 400,000 Americans with disabilities whose families are on SNAP.
These people deserve our help - not to be callously punished by their government.
This should not be a partisan issue — but Republicans have made it one.
This is the same party that claims to stand for law and order, transparency, and protecting women and girls. But they couldn’t even be bothered to show up and hear directly from Epstein survivors.
Their complicity is loud — but their absence was even louder.
To every survivor: thank you for continuing to speak out. Our systems have failed you but we hear you, we believe you, and we will keep fighting until you get the justice you deserve.
HEGSETH: The destruction of Iran's defense industrial base has been clear and overwhelming
SHAHEEN: It's certainly not clear to me because what we see is Iran still producing drones. We have not won this war, despite the rhetoric
Americans are having to make stark choices every day—afford gas to go to work and take their kids to school, or take care of aging parents, or afford medical care. The Trump economy is costing people in every way.
Donald Trump is getting increasingly unhinged, and even some of his supporters are reluctantly starting to admit it.
When asked by a female reporter about the cost of his White House ballroom, Trump blew up:
“I doubled the size of it you dumb person. You are not a smart person”
Breaking: Two Trump White House officials were caught on a hidden camera, per @JamesOKeefeIII
The First is Maxim Lott, Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy
Second is Benjamin Ellisten, Senior Budget Analyst and Fund Manager for the White House
They admitted:
• Trump is using $1B of tax payer money to retrofit his new plane
• Domestic policy decisions are made based on what "feels like a good idea"
• No formal cost-benefit analysis exists for major policy calls
• Staff bypass the Oval Office and act on their own interpretation of Trump's preferences
• Ellisten called Trump "a madman" and said "We've got to get rid of him"
There appears to be people in the White House acting on Trumps behalf without his direct approval
NEW: Interior Dept. staffers have raised questions about the quality and speed of the work being done to repair the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, according to document seen by the NY Times.

Also: President Trump previously said he had personally chosen the contractor to fix the Reflecting Pool, because of the good work they did on his golf club's swimming pools.
Now, Trump says does not know them.
Trump on Iran War:
Reporter: What extent are Americans’ financial situation motivating you to make a deal?
Trump: Not even a little bit. I don't think about Americans’ financial situation
