@SawyerMerritt@Tesla Too complicated. Just a cheap flat hourly price based on actual use, and HW3 gets a proper HW upgrade for full feature parity. Best in the long run.
@briandstone I wouldn't be surprised if Tesla announced something better in the future. After all, Tesla is known for radical moves for the sake of the primary vision, and this was essentially a production space reallocation. Maybe theres bandwidth for the roadster soon.
@elonmusk I would be happy to pay 1cent/mile for FSD, even if it ended up more expensive than a monthly sub or the full purchase. Driving habits make a huge difference when evaluating FSD value.
@teroterotero Just a bunch of red flags (crazy specs) and no concrete evidence. To me this feels like a state actor level scam. But I'll be pleasantly surprised if this ends up being real.
@InsaneAppollo Stalks are better because they stay put and provide superior tactile feedback. I'd love to get rid of the stalks if someone invents an interface you can use without looking and being too dependent on state (turn) of the steering wheel.
@wholemars The funny thing is, I would PREFER the standard Model Y external style over the more expensive Junipers, but with the added features obviously. I think the Standard Y is going to sell very well.
@99_Colorado HW3 cars do not fit current HW4 hardware, so a special form factor of HW4 computer and perhaps camera modules would be required, but the existing scale of HW3 deployment still makes it worth if IMO.
@99_Colorado For the sake of brand trust, they should not drop HW3 SW development nor the already made promise of FSD in HW3-original cars. Tesla has the resources to do this, and there are multiple ways to achieve it. If distilled FSD model doesn't cut it, upgrade the computer and cameras.
@itskyleconner I've never been a fan of the Juniper design, and I agree, this actually looks better design-wise. Removal of the basic autopilot is a weird and bad choice, but otherwise overall I think this will be very competitive.
