@PJJarvis This is so true! I feel fortunate to have some students I had last year and I can tell the difference with having that previous relationship established.
@HansaNarang17 I know the feeling of being isolated. Although I have a few other teachers that teacher pe with me, we are in our own separate wing which sometimes feels like our own planet.
@MALTDHagel It is interesting to see students I had last year in person compared to having them again virtually this year. I can tell their level of comfort is different online vs in person.
“Goal for creating social presence..is to create a level of comfort in which people feel at ease around the instructor and the other participants.” Interesting to see the changes when some of our kids will be in person and some will remain online starting 3/8. #NotADog#643Sp21
Some classes I see that more kids have a social presence vs interactions . Just like in a face to face class you can see how differently students interact with the content based on the makeup of the class. #NotADog#643Sp21
“meaningful interactions can reduce isolation and anonymity in online classes” I have been trying to give my students opportunity for their voice to be heard in our activities by having them provide options for workouts they like during our Workout Wednesday. #NotADog#643Sp21
With using Google Meet, I didn’t utilize breakout rooms until later in the year and have seen a lot of positive student engagement and expression in those small group sessions compared to whole group. Allowing them to express themselves better. #SPOResearch1#643Sp21
Can relate to Southeastern Virtual School with flexibility of creating courses. No prior online content for our course led to a whole creation of our course this school year. #SPOResearch1#643Sp21
“Open communication is “”a climate wherein which students feel free to express themselves”” more engagement in written responses compared to verbal #SPOResearch1#643Sp21
@MsKaileySevel I try to pick a few students each week and send them an email based on their response of a fun question I ask during our weekly reflection assignment.
