For those asking me why expats on assignement in Lebanon and tourists aren't leaving... They are. We are mostly talking about 10's if not 100's of 1000's of Lebanese with dual citizenship, mixed marriages, etc. Their lives, homes, families are in Lebanon.

Between those trying to fill their gas tanks at service stations, and those trying to fill their souls at the mosque, Beirut traffic is at a standstill…
Lebanese people consider themselves as being polite, yet when someone in the street asks for directions, or whatever, 9 times out of 10 they drive or walk away without so much as a thank you nod after they get their answer...

Hello @Davos how abt inviting someone from Lebanon civil society to sit on this panel about return of unrest, instead of @Gebran_Bassil a caretaker minister who is target of protestors' anger? And at whose expense is he taking this luxury trip while Lebanon faces econ collapse?
So, midway through this voting day, why are there so many people honking, celebrating and making such a raucous? Is it because they are so elated to be voting or because they believe that their za3eem (that’s feudal master) has already and/or is sure to win?
Just in time for the upcoming Lebanese parliamentary elections... trash all over the streets and putrid smells coming out of the manholes! A reminder of who has been and could still be running the country before and after tomorrow.
I wonder, do all those hungry Lebanese candidates and their parties pay for all them posters, or do they simply promise the advertisers more free billboards all over the country once they are in power?
