New HBO show Band of Brothers airs its sixth episode, “Bastogne,” about the German siege of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge and especially the role of medic Eugene “Doc” Roe.
Captain Ronald Speirs, who is portrayed by Matthew Settle in "Band of Brothers", is pictured at a practice jump in Joigny, France in September 1945. After earning the Silver Star for his actions during WWII, Speirs went on to fight in Korea, taking part in Operation Tomahawk. Albert Blithe, who is also featured in "Band of Brothers" and who the series falsely states died from his WWII wounds in 1948, actually survived the war and served under Speirs in Korea. After Korea, Ronald Speirs eventually became the American governor of Berlin's Spandau Prison, where high-ranking Nazis like Rudolf Hess were imprisoned. To learn more about Speirs' life, we recommend the biography "Fierce Valor" by Jared Frederick and Erik Dorr. #bandofbrothers #ww2 #easycompany #WWII
25 years ago today Band of Brothers aired, wow!
From watching it in awe, to collecting my first few props to building this page and making freinds with so many cast, crew, extras, fans and easy company family members,
25 years after Band of Brothers first aired, HBO has announced a new documentary celebrating this incredible series.
I absolutely loved this show and I will definitely watch this documentary.
Who else loved Band Of Brothers?
HBO’s all-time great Band Of Brothers is getting a 25th anniversary documentary, with fresh interviews and a new trailer now out.

Releasing 25 years to the day after the series premiered, "Band of Brothers: Legacy" is a new HBO documentary that examines the lasting impact the series has had, including on the lives of the actors who portrayed the men of Easy Company. As seen in the trailer (link in comments), the documentary also features interview clips with the real-life Easy Company veterans. Hopefully, we'll get to see some new footage with the veterans that hasn't been seen before. #bandofbrotherslegacy #bandofbrothers #ww2
Some clarification guys…
The last time I did a podcast was around 2022 and what I expected to be a casual interview about acting and my career in this latest podcast snowballed into something much bigger. I politely declined when a major news outlet reached out for an interview, but they went ahead and published one anyway. Once their piece dropped, every other outlet piggybacked off the story.
What I said about the working-class actor getting squeezed in this industry is ABSOLUTELY TRUE and many people in the entertainment industry can attest to that. But I never wanted to become the public face of the “out-of-work actor.”
I just said aloud what EVERYONE ELSE was thinking.🤷🏻♂️
It’s interesting how none of those articles mentioned that I actually have a few gigs currently in post-production, with projects scheduled to come out later this year. Funny how those details get left out.
At the end of the day, I’m still here grinding like always and grateful for the work I do have and the stories I’ve been lucky enough to tell over the years. The industry is tough right now for a lot of us, but I’m focused on moving forward, staying creative, and taking care of what matters most, my family.
I’m happy to know my story resonated with so many actors, casting, props, stunts, crafty, directors, writers, wardrobe, agents & managers, hair & makeup and all the other pre and post crew who work in TV and Film.
WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
Appreciate the support from those who really know the full picture.
