Standing in solidarity with Palestine 🇵🇸, Indonesia 🇮🇩 along with 84 other countries and international organizations joins a Media Stakeout held today (17/2) condemning recent Israeli decisions to expand its unlawful presence and annexation in the West Bank.

Key points on the Joint Statement:

✅ Rejects any measures that alter the demographic composition or legal status of the OPT, including East Jerusalem, that will jeopardize the prospects for a lasting peace agreement.

✅ Reaffirms a commitment to the two-state solution based on 1967 borders, including through the New York Declaration and the 2024 ICJ Advisory Opinion.

👉🏼Condemn unilateral Israeli decisions and measures aimed at expanding Israel’s unlawful presence in the West Bank.

👉🏼Reject all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
👉🏼Reaffirm commitment reflected in the New York Declaration to take concrete measures, in accordance with international law, and in line with the relevant UN resolutions and the 19 July 2024 Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice, to help realize the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and counter the illegal settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and policies and threats of forcible displacement and annexation.
👉🏼 Reiterate that just and lasting peace on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions, the Madrid
terms of reference, including the principle of land for peace, and the Arab Peace Initiative, ending the Israeli
occupation that began in 1967 and implementing the two-State solution on the basis of the 1967 lines, including with regard to Jerusalem, remains the only path to ensure security and stability in the region.

Today, Hatem Rayyan, a Palestinian paramedic who was abducted from Kamal Odwan Hospital on December 27, 2024, died in an Israeli prison.

Rayyan was abducted from the same hospital and on the same day as Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyya.

We are pleased to announce the adoption of the Palestinian biometric passport system at the Embassy of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Sweden. This step aligns with the Palestinian Government’s strategy to automate government services and advance digital transformation, as well as with our ongoing commitment to enhancing consular services in a way that facilitates the issuance and renewal of passports as quickly and efficiently as possible, with the highest standards of accuracy and quality, and in accordance with the latest technical and security requirements.

This achievement is the result of joint efforts undertaken by a specialized team from the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, with the active participation of the Embassy’s Consular Section staff, within the framework of our ongoing commitment to improving performance and enhancing the level of services provided to our people abroad.

This development also builds on the efforts of the Embassy of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Sweden to modernize its consular operations system. Four years ago, the Embassy launched an electronic consular platform that enables applicants to complete forms and upload required documents electronically, thereby reducing repeated inquiries and contributing to faster processing of transactions. The platform includes online appointment booking, automated reminder notifications, and electronic payment for all consular service fees, in addition to dedicated phone lines and email channels to ensure prompt and effective communication.

In cooperation with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the Embassy has also introduced an electronic account creation service for each applicant as part of efforts to obtain an approximate count of members of the Palestinian community in the Kingdom of Sweden, and to map their qualifications, areas of expertise, and distribution across Swedish cities.

As part of strengthening engagement with the community, the Consular Section continues to conduct periodic visits to Swedish cities where members of the Palestinian community reside, providing consular services and consultations directly and addressing their needs in their places of residence.

In this regard, Ambassador Rula Almhaissen reaffirms the Embassy’s commitment to further developing its consular services and responding to the diverse needs of applicants, ensuring the delivery of modern, innovative, and efficient services.

يسرنا الإعلان عن اعتماد نظام جواز السفر البيومتري الفلسطيني في سفارة دولة فلسطين لدى مملكة السويد، وذلك انسجاماً مع استراتيجية الحكومة الفلسطينية الهادفة إلى أتمتة العمل الحكومي وتعزيز التحول الرقمي، وحرصاً على مواصلة تطوير الخدمات القنصلية بما يسهل على المراجعين إصدار وتجديد جوازات السفر بأسرع وقت، وبأعلى درجات الدقة والجودة، ووفقاً لأحدث المعايير التقنية والأمنية.

ويأتي هذا الإنجاز ثمرة لجهود مشتركة بذلها فريق مختص من وزارة الداخلية الفلسطينية ووزارة الخارجية والمغتربين الفلسطينية، وبمشاركة فاعلة من طاقم القسم القنصلي في السفارة، في إطار التزامنا المستمر بتطوير الأداء ورفع مستوى الخدمات المقدمة لأبناء شعبنا في الخارج.

كما يعدّ هذا التطور استكمالاً لجهود سفارة دولة فلسطين لدى مملكة السويد في تحديث منظومة العمل القنصلي، حيث أطلقت قبل أربع سنوات منصةً قنصلية إلكترونية تمكن المراجعين من تعبئة الاستمارات وإرفاق المتطلبات إلكترونياً، بما يخفف الاستفسارات المتكررة ويسهم في تسريع إنجاز المعاملات. وتشمل المنصة خدمة حجز المواعيد المسبقة إلكترونياً، ونظام إشعارات للتذكير بالمواعيد، وخدمة الدفع الإلكتروني لكافة رسوم المعاملات القنصلية، إضافةً إلى العمل على تخصيص خطوط اتصال مباشرة وبريد إلكتروني لضمان تواصل سريع وفعّال.

وعملت السفارة، بالتعاون مع الجهاز المركزي للإحصاء الفلسطيني على توفير خدمة إنشاء حساب إلكتروني لكل مراجع، في إطار السعي إلى حصر تقريبي لأعداد أبناء الجالية الفلسطينية في مملكة السويد، ورصد كفاءاتهم وتخصصاتهم، وتوزعهم في المدن السويدية.

وفي إطار تعزيز التواصل مع أبناء الجالية، يواصل طاقم القسم القنصلي تنظيم زيارات دورية إلى المدن السويدية التي تتواجد فيها الجالية الفلسطينية، لتقديم الخدمات القنصلية والاستشارات مباشرةً، وتلبية احتياجاتهم في أماكن إقامتهم.

وبهذا الصدد، تؤكد سعادة السفيرة رولا المحيسن إلتزام السفارة بمواصلة تطوير خدماتها القنصلية والاستجابة لاحتياجات المراجعين المتنوعة، بما يضمن تقديم خدمة عصرية وكفؤة.
