Hi #HESM friends! Has your institution developed in-house virtual tours, rather than using the well-known vendors? Would love to see examples if possible!
Thirty years ago today I began my journey into #highered by joining what was then the University of Missouri-Rolla (now @MissouriSandT) as a PR writer. Itβs been a great career so far, and Iβm looking forward to much more! Grateful for the marcom team here.
@CorynnMyers And to wrap this in a single score for simplicity and clarity - how about using a depth factor for every interaction ? Too complex to implement or not?

@vicomalley @Northeastern @HiEdStrat @NortheasternCPS Congratulations, Dr ! πππ Ypur thesis sounds super interesting. Any chance youβd share the high level findings?
#highered Job Alert -- it's a great opportunity to work with one of the top #hesm professional in the industry -- and a fantastic team of student ambassadors

Want to work with me? π
The position I recently vacated to take my new position just posted today. Work with me on BYU social, a digital media relations component that's unique, running a student micro-influencer model and more.
DM me with questions.

Congratulations to Tiwanda Taylor (@Tiwanda_at_Pitt)
who won the Kahoot drawing of the on-demand 2020 Higher Ed Analytics at the @mycoalition webinar yesterday!

@rachaelhanley@mycoalition You're welcome, Rachael! Thanks for asking it -- and the HBR article I referenced really illustrates so well the new approach we've taken at @higheredexperts in our online classrooms for the past 3 years
Always interesting to listen to Mike's advice on this topic, because he's been an insider working in #highered marketing and he's experienced the full recruiting cycle as the parent of a freshman THIS year.

Another Monday at the office...
When @zoom_us decides out of the blue to send a follow-up email to the +800 people who didn't attend the #HEETalkLearn, an online event that actually did NOT take place last Friday. ππ

@redcrew Quick update about our exchange from this AM:
it looks like the gentle nudge I added at the bottom of the list (explaining how fast it can be done) worked pretty well as 4+1 videos have now updated captions that replaced the initial auto-captions you saw this AM.
@CorynnMyers So true -- it can give you ideas as you approach what you do and know in a totally different context. I've recently discovered new features on services I've been using for awhile when I set things up from scratch for a non profit.
@redcrew@markgr I'm pretty sure I've featured them in my weekly newsletter when they were published. I've added the recording of @mrichwalsky#HEETalkLearn May 1st session on making videos accessible at the bottom of the list.
So, thanks for reminding to include a gentle nod. :-)
@markgr@redcrew Thanks for the link! Is it the industry standard for vendors or is it also the legal requirements from your experience with OCR reviews?
@markgr@redcrew I'm genuinely curious about this, Mark, since you've done so much work about it. Do you mean that there is a legal mandate for 100% accuracy in captions? Humans can make mistake too. How do you measure caption quality? What about description for videos?
@redcrew@markgr I agree it's not a lot of extra work, but I've learned over the years in my online classrooms gentle nudges can do wonder in making people move in the right direction.
Now, talking about the quality of the auto captioning, I'm amazed at the progress that have been done with AI.
