@ciarannugent@StephenMather6 The UN are entirely useless, but given we are only capable of peace keeping (and shouldn't want more than that), it's pointless to forgo their input, imperfect but keep it.
@BurnsideWasTosh@Keir_Starmer Starmer after the death of George Floyd in the house of commons "shone a light on racism and hatred experienced by many in the US and beyond" and later public statement "George Floyd must not become just another name. His shocking death should be the catalyst for change."
One thing you have to love about the USA is their absolute optimistic ambition and belief in entrepreneurs - they decided they wanted small modular reactors by the 4th of July, and looks like they'll get there! https://t.co/EljXHs68xL
@KonstantinKisin@theresa_may Half the 'net zero jobs' would have existed anyway, wrapping a policy around it after the fact as being the reason they came about is a classic post hoc fallacy.
@MattChorley It's OK, this is a phenomena known as a 'Freudian slip', you just said what you felt he meant because the BBC is about as objective as dog being asked about eating meat.
@BarryAndrewsMEP@EU_Commission It is shambolic to watch the moral grand standing on the occupied territories bill, while at the same time we supply Russia with war effort components. Irish politicians shrouded in glory yet again ๐๐
"You are not likely to see Henry Nowakโs words stenciled on a mural. No corporation will change its logo. The same establishment that made a few words immortal when spoken by a black man in Minneapolis has met the same words, spoken by a white boy dying on a British street, with what can only be described as a determined, institutional silence. That silence is not neutral. It is a statement. It tells you exactly whose suffering the system has decided counts, and whose does not."
@robertmcguinn18 Some people say 'yes' and have data to support that, others say 'no' and have data to support that. A core point is that EU membership isn't capitalism, and you could argue that with far less regulation all of the EU countries would be better off.
The left simply don't get it, they never create dynamic economies (and before you reply 'China': remember, they are 'left' in terms of authoritarian control, but otherwise largely deregulated and capitalist)
Archie Norman, M&Sโs well-respected boardroom chief, warned that high taxes and excessive red tape were smothering businesses and hollowing out town centres

Warren Buffett: "The bottom 2% in terms of income in the United States, the bottom 5%, and for sure the top 1% all live better than John D. Rockefeller was living when I was six years old."
"John D. Rockefeller was the richest man in the world and, today, you can get better medicine, better education, better entertainment, better transportation. You can do everything better than he could."
"When I was born, the dentist didn't use novocaine!"
Most of the things you need to know to succeed (outside of a few specific professions) is developed and known in the business world. University has a role, but thinking it's 'for all' is a luxury thought.
@brianwhelanhack@RachelMoiselle@SohrabAhmari@cenkuygur This fails the logic test of people from EU neighbouring states being equally denied entry to speak critically of the UK government (anybody outside of the centre/pro-government is being denied, this is a failure of free speech, not of a Isreali/Jewish conspiracy).
