@CaitrATC Yes! This! This is my why. I want them to see what I do and say “we really have to invest in an AT”. I’m afraid if I didn’t help at all the wouldn’t see the need - or even know it’s a possibility.

1st football game of the season & we activated EMS & sent a kid off on a spine board…..for the other team (we were away). Working both sides of the field isn’t new to me but it’s getting old. Stop making excuses!! If you can’t afford a AT, you can’t afford athletics!

@Stephen_Moss_AT Yes sir! One of the positives of working in 2A is I get to advocate every single game. I couldn’t count the number of times ADs or coaches have asked me about my position!

@Thomasjbarkoski @keithmxatc going on & noticed it was a neck injury. I then stepped in and took over d/t the way it was being handled. I’m more than happy to help - that’s not the issue. It just makes me sick to my stomach knowing so many schools go without protecting their athletes.

@Thomasjbarkoski @keithmxatc I agree. Before kickoff I tell them I am around if something happens. I don’t usually go out for sprains, etc. but something serious, I’m going to help. In this situation I was taking care of my own & when I finished this kid was still on the field. I went to see what was 1/2

Parents of current and former athletes: measuring the heat and humidity is not just looking at a weather app and seeing the "feels like" number.

We use a wet bulb reading. It is not the same as a heat index.

Heat index is measured in the shade - we don't practice in the shade
