@EdwardZ002 I also learned a lot of history about my object, even though it’s a newer object. I learned a lot about the different people who took part in creating it and making it as largely known as it is today! Very fascinating.
@LC22Lisa I love that you honored her! She was so fascinating and a truly strong/inspirational woman for her time and for years to come. I recommend watching a few of her documentaries, they are very empowering!
@m11780729 I think it’s gonna take a lot more than support Ukraine with weapons to end this unfortunately, I think the entire world is going to be involved, we have a lot expect in our coming future. But it’s important to look out for fake news!
@r05_sarah I have found myself in the same boat, but I’m also thankful to learn so much about one object! It really puts in to perspective what everything surrounding us means. I find myself analyzing everything I see now lol, do you as well?
@gs150ak I kind of went both ways with mine, but it’s now that you mention it I can see how most people went one way or the other. Do you think the 2nd way you did it was more useful for readers?
@ilovepostt I think capitalism could be good, but todays society is driven by money and seems to be the only thing they care about, at least big corporations&largely economically influential people. If people were more accountable as Nathan said I think it could change
@englgs60377040 Not to mention how todays privileged trends are people raiding second hand clothing stores and selling them for more money & labeling it as "vintage". Ig it is good for the environment but unfortunate for people who can't afford to shop outside of goodwill
After watching True Cost has anyone else felt deeply ashamed about their closet? I try to thrift my clothes, recycle, & do my part, but I'm always learning a new way that I can help prevent from hurting our earth& others. #globalstudies150
@evan_lc22 The concept of HW makes sense, go home & practice what you learned in school, but I also agree with the second part of your statement. Sometimes I complete assignments and feel like I gained/learned nothing from it besides that I'm a chronic procrastinator.
@hillary0829 I felt the same way, I think this is a good way for us as peers to get on the same page and connect on assignments when we feel stuck or if we thought something was really fascinating. Do you find tweeting helpful?
What I feel like we all are after finally understanding what cultural capital is after years of the world projecting influences and standards onto us #globalstudies150
After reading through the 5 scapes of globalization and realizing everything surrounding me is the large scope of interconnections crisscrossing the globe. #globalstudies150
@ahyang22 Thank you for sharing your object presentation! What made you get an Apple Watch? Was it because you wanted to improve your health or because you were influenced by todays trends and pop culture? I found this really eye opening as an Apple Watch owner!
After reading the Baseball Hats article I had a realization that isn’t everything that the majority of the population wear only worn because it’s a version of what the rich and famous wear?#globalstudies150
After reading Handbag’s Tale, all I could think about was the Kardashians and all their luxurious items&accessories. How does one become worthy to own a Burkin bag? You have to show you have a lot of money to pay a lot of money to own a purse? #globalstudies150
@evan_lc22 I feel the same way, the fact that whoever you marry... is technically not the same person at all 5 years from then. I found memory theory to be the most realistic theory, in my opinion.
One of the most shocking things I learned in this weeks reading material was that the only thing that remains constant in your entire life is your name, if you don't change it. #globalstudies150
