By examining how each "Wing" deal with their weakness, Zoro emerges as the superior character
- Zoro: acknowledges and confronts his weakness which makes his narrative flow smoothly
- Sanji: fears and seals it away untill it's plot convenient
@Strepriptor@PyroWildcat04 Iwa talked about Sanji reaching a breaking point where his body/endurance fails and can no longer support or protect his friends, and for that he needs to improve his defense through self-love. Nothing was said about full potential or conqueror's haki

Bruh...
I am now convinced Oda forgot all about pre-timeskip. Because wtf man?
Sanji is not even considered human anymore
Modern one piece is garbage
#ONEPIECE1196
I still remember tha "paper cut" arguments when Zoro carved a permanent wound into Kaido's chest despite the mythical Zoan regen
And now they're making excuses for Sanji reaching his limits by accumilating "small wounds". Suddenly the germs regen doesn't matter
@Strepriptor@PyroWildcat04 But he has those abilities NOW, so Iwa's argument is no longer relevant
"Small wounds" should be nothing against accelerated healing
Maybe i have overestimated the germa enhancements, maybe they're useless, and Oda only made them exclusively to defeat Queen then forgot about them

Sanji is the most unoriginal strawhat member
Ever since WCI he's been copying everything from other characters; his trauma, his psychological conflicts, even his moments of resolution are stolen

#ONEPIECE1196
The Sanji situation suggests that you can "directly" force-awaken Conqueror's haki through self-reflection, which contradicts established lore
Also breaking a life-long trauma rooted bad habit with a single flashback is so disrespectfully convenient
Lazy writing

Sanji's character went through major retcons since the wedding plot; not trusting his allies, not loving himself... Etc
Here's an early example that proves the opposite: Sanji entrusting Luffy's safety to others while prioritizing defending his honor (chapter 86)
@Rando40000 Sanji was simply misguided, he's repaying sacrifice with sacrifice to protect Zeff's dream when he should instead direct that resolve toward his own ambition as Zeff intended. It's not about self worth, but gratitude. And his childhood trauma has nothing to do with that situation
#ONEPIECE1196
Sanji's lack of survival instinct should have been a side effect from the germa modifications (like his siblings, ya know)
But nooo... Let's have another pity party.
There is absolutely no reason why Sanji hates himself, we're just forced to accept it i guess
#ONEPIECE1196
Sanji says he would die for Robin and Nami, but Ivan tells him that a love which desires death is worthless, because love itself is a form of defense.
Ivan warns Sanji that he will eventually reach his limit if he keeps fighting like that without taking care of himself.
@Rando40000#ONEPIECE1196
Zeff literally proves my point
Besides Sanji himself said dying for Zeff is his way of paying a debt. Not an expression of self hate
Sanji never longed for death as this chapter suggests, he had a strong will to live, that's why he survived through starvation
