▪️Hanumant Patil, an IT engineer from Bodka village in Ahmedpur taluka of Maharashtra's Latur district, died by suicide in London after suffering mental distress linked to a prolonged family dispute and a ₹2 crore legal claim filed by his wife. The couple had been married for around eight years, had no children, and had been living separately for nearly a year following frequent arguments.

▪️Patil was working as an IT engineer in London and earned around ₹8 lakhs a month before the incident. The ongoing marital conflict and legal proceedings left him under severe mental stress.

▪️Before taking the extreme step, Hanumant made an emotional final phone call to his family, telling them, "I will not live anymore. Don't wait for me. Please take care of everyone." His relatives tried to persuade him not to act, but being thousands of kilometres away, they could not reach him in time.

▪️Hanumant was later found hanging at his residence in London, leaving his family and residents of Bodka village in shock and mourning. The incident has drawn attention because of the impact of the prolonged family dispute and legal claim preceding his death.

Aaftab Amin Poonawala — who chopped Shraddha Walkar into 35 pieces and stored them in a fridge — has been granted a court date cancellation so he can appear for his MA Sociology exam at Tihar Jail.

The trial has been dragging since 2023. Shraddha's father, who fought for justice, passed away in 2025 without seeing it delivered.
