Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign.
The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers.
Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵
Actually, the networks literally built the infrastructure to transmit from the White House. They’re the ones with the resources to do it daily. That includes a considerable amount for staff, equipment, & travel costs. We then pool footage to other outlets. It is a public service.
With CNN banned from the White House and taken off the TV pool list for today, (they were originally listed as pool for Monday and for the President’s trip to the UN General Assembly) other major TV networks are standing by the outlet and, in an astonishing move, all together deciding not to cover events designated as pool coverage of the President.
What is important for people at home to understand about how this affects all of us is that the footage taken by one of the five major TV networks in the White House pool rotation (CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS) goes out to local affiliates across the country and throughout the world.
If people don’t get this footage from the main 5 outlets, then the only footage left comes from the White House itself.
As former WHCA president Weijia Jiang
@weijia put it yesterday, “America cannot have state TV.”
Right now there is no major TV pool covering the President’s movements.
Here’s Arch Manning’s apology for his insensitive comment in his press conference. Says he’s “deeply sorry” and says he apologizes to Holly Rowe of ESPN. “I need to do better and will be more thoughtful going forward.”
This is not okay. It’s extremely disturbing. I’d love to know what is funny about violence against women (real or imaginary) because even the thought of it churns my stomach.
“I saw the AI Edit of (Sark) slapping Holly Rowe.”
I asked Arch Manning if he’d seen any edits on TikTok or Twitter after the game, and his answer is gold.
On 9/11, the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 stormed the cockpit, forcing the hijacked jet to crash in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
But before the world knew of their bravery, members of Washington, D.C.’s Air National Guard were prepared to make their own sacrifice.
@nickschifrin shares the story of pilot Heather "Lucky" Penney.
The Sept. 11 attack’s “falling man” photo was one of 9/11’s most iconic and haunting images, fueling a mystery over his identify that remains unresolved a quarter century later. https://t.co/3uSvL752Xg
We’ve been covering settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank for years.
But yesterday, we found ourselves on the menu.
A group of masked settlers beat our team and pummelled the 51 year old woman we were interviewing unconscious.
We’re all ok now - and Aida is out of the hospital - but this is just one incident among an unprecedented surge in settler violence across the West Bank.
Here’s out story on yesterday’s attack on Sunday Today on @NBCNews.

"I enjoy sexuality more than I enjoy sex."
"I don't really want to look at a penis for any longer than I have to. I think that's why I want it to go inside so it gets out of my face."
"I like dicks as art pieces."
